Data Engineering QA Intern

Outreach Business Intelligence & Analytics (BI&A) team looking for a data engineering intern who is passionate about automation and data quality. You will have a great opportunity to make an impact at a young and growing company and help BI&A team to evolve and mature our daily data ingestion routines.
About The Team
The BI and Analytics team is on a mission to bring relevant data and insights to every person at Outreach while advancing the use of data and promoting an insight-centric culture. We are a centralized resource providing a suite of services to Outreach business functions including KPI definition, dashboards & reporting, ad hoc analysis, forecasting, self-serve analytics, predictive models and data pipeline building and management.
Your Daily Adventures Will Include
- Build automated SQL tests for data completeness, quality, and freshness
- Help BI Analysts and Operations Data Scientist prep their models for production
- Test and document Analytics solution deployment, such as Tableau data sources, data models etc.
- Build dashboards to surface data quality, job quality insights
- Build alerts and automation around data quality
Our Vision for You
- You have at least 1 year of professional experience
- You are familiar with saas vendor data/data models
- You have keen attention to details
- You go above and beyond to help your team
- You are honest, admit mistakes, and own fixing them
- You are a motivated and talented craftsperson: always looking to sharpen and adapt your skills
- You have familiarity with Tableau or other BI/Visualization platform
- You are at least at the beginner level in SQL
- You have experience validating/qualifying data
- You have build reports and dashboards to convey insights to technical and non-technical audience
- You have experience developing and improving data operations processes
Preferred Qualifications
- Experience with Snowflake and Matillion
- Prior experience working with ETL/ELT
- Familiarity with modern data warehousing architecture and processes
