JOB SUMMARY


Code.org is looking for a State Policy Fellow for a year-long internship to support our state-by-state advocacy efforts to expand K-12 access to computer science education. In this role, you will gain a deep understanding of state policy and will broaden your networks in education policy. In addition to performing clerical duties to support the team (e.g., creating slides, providing meeting and event support, cleaning data), you will research state education policy and synthesize information for the government affairs team, perform data analysis, and help execute our state policy agenda. Typical projects include compiling and analyzing data from national sources, with a particular emphasis on student enrollment and demographic data. 


EXPERIENCE AND QUALIFICATIONS


You should be: 

• Pursuing a master’s or doctoral degree in public policy, public administration, political science, education, or a related field during the 2021-22 school year. 

• A self-starter and multi-tasker who excels under pressure, and can work independently with a geographically dispersed team.


You should have:

• Strong quantitative and technology skills, including comfort with spreadsheets (such as Excel or Google Sheets).

• Strong written communication skills.

• Prior experience in education or public policy (preferred but not required).
