Located in Everett, WA, the Associate General Counsel requires a highly motivated, independent problem solver, with excellent analytical and communication skills. This role supports all aspects of the company’s business operations including intellectual property (IP), commercial relationships, litigation, employment, corporate and other strategic activities.

Your Superpowers in Action

  • Oversee and proactively advise on a wide variety of legal and commercial matters, including intellectual property and licensing, compliance issues, litigation, employment law and M&A;
  • Manage and direct all aspects of our intellectual property strategy and other matters related to the protection and defense of intellectual property, including overseeing our trademark/IP portfolio as well as our global enforcement and anti-counterfeiting program;
  • Support licensing team on key licensing agreements, and counsel the business on a broad range of commercial matters, including review and negotiation of vendor and supplier agreements;
  • Draft, review, and negotiate a wide range of agreements, including software, technology, services, vendor, distributor, manufacturer and other commercial contracts;
  • Oversee company compliance programs and policies, including complying with U.S. and relevant international privacy and data protection regulations and laws;
  • Actively manage outside counsel and other legal services vendors to optimize efficient use of resources;
  • Assist in building and managing legal staff as needed. 

Must-Have Superhero Gadgetry

  • Minimum of 7 years of experience; a combination of law firm and in-house experiences a plus.
  • JD from an accredited law school and membership in good standing in at least one state bar.
  • Ability to develop, implement and maintain a wide range of legal and business initiatives.
  • Proven organizational, analytical, and negotiation skills with exceptional attention to detail.
  • Significant experience negotiating, drafting and reviewing a broad range of commercial contracts.
  • Excellent teaming and collaboration skills and ability to work cross functionally in an action driven culture.
  • Ability to work under pressure, juggle multiple projects with competing priorities, meet deadlines, and adapt to change in an ambiguous environment.
  • Team player with a high level of professionalism and commitment to developing strong relationships with colleagues, internal clients and business teams across the enterprise.
  • Experience with, and enthusiasm for, process improvement and problem solving.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication and presentation skills; must be able to communicate effectively across all levels.
  • Highly skilled in standard office software and able to adapt quickly to new technologies.
  • Public company/SEC experience a plus.
