Associate General Counsel

Your Role and Impact
Reporting to the General Counsel, you will lead the legal team’s efforts in contracting, which includes building out new channels and working cross-functionally. This role is critical to ensuring the business success of a rapidly growing, healthcare technology startup.
Responsibilities
- Negotiate a wide range of commercial agreements with customers, including master services agreements and statements of work, and establish partnerships with ancillary partners
- Establish and implement a process for managing contracts with SaaS vendors and partners, research agreements and independent contractor agreements
- Advise on risks and liabilities of proposed commercial transactions and devise creative and practical legal solutions to meet business objectives
- Provide legal and strategic business advice to develop a comprehensive, long-term approach with our key commercial customers
- Refine our contracting process for new lines of commercial customers and partnerships
- Develop form agreements and contracting best practices playbooks and checklists to ensure uniformity across the legal team
- Keep informed of applicable laws, regulations and industry guidance that impact commercial agreements
- Advise commercial team on pricing strategies and compliance with Anti-Kickback, Stark Law, fee-splitting laws, ERISA, the Affordable Care Act, and a range of other laws affecting employee benefits
- Provide advice and guidance on future product developments and protection of intellectual property
Qualifications
- JD and licensed to practice law in at least one state
- Ten or more years of relevant experience
- At least two years of experience working with healthcare institutions, insurers or benefits within large employers
- At least two years of in-house experience preferred
- Experience drafting and negotiating commercial agreements
- Experience working within a technology company preferred
