This role requires you to work predominantly out of our Seattle HQ office. You will receive an expanded bank of work-from-home time of 24 days per year. Please note that no matter where you are located, all employees should be available during our core working hours from 10 am to 4 pm PT Monday through Friday.

 

Your role and impact

We are looking for an experienced, strategic leader to serve as the Chief Compliance Officer. In close partnership with the CEO, COO, GC and CFO, you will lead all compliance efforts including privacy, security, healthcare and corporate compliance. As the CCO, you will lead the way in designing our compliance roadmap and supporting the company in navigating the complexities of a broad range of compliance matters in a manner that resonates with our company culture. 

 

Responsibilities

  • Establish standards and implement procedures to ensure that the compliance programs throughout the organization are effective and efficient in identifying, preventing, detecting and correcting noncompliance with applicable laws and regulations and company code of conduct
  • Direct, coach and retain a high-caliber compliance team consistent with 98point6’s core values
  • Operate as a single unit with the C-suite and Board of Directors on all things compliance-related, both internal and external, to lead and grow a world-class compliance organization
  • Lead, drive and act as the authority on key compliance matters for the business, including but not limited to healthcare, privacy, security and corporate compliance initiatives
  • In conjunction with our General Counsel, ensure regulatory compliance regarding all functions
  • Embody the company’s mission and values, including promoting health equity for all and diversity, equity and inclusion within our workplace
  • Oversee investigations when needed and provide recommendations for remediation of identified exceptions or deficiencies, and collaborate with the business to follow up on timely remediation
  • Promote culture of compliance that encourages managers and employees to report suspected improprieties, without fear of retaliation

 

Qualifications

  • 15+ years of related experience in a fast-paced growth environment 
  • Healthcare industry experience required, technology industry experience a plus
  • Experience as a CCO or other senior leadership position in compliance
  • A bachelor’s degree in health sciences or a compliance related field (Masters or JD preferred)
  • Professional certifications in healthcare compliance (e.g., CHC), auditing (e.g., CPMA) or equivalent (preferred)
  • Experience leading compliance for a public company a plus
  • A deep understanding of HIPAA, healthcare, corporate compliance and risk management principles 
  • Demonstrated ability to effectively communicate and manage relationships with regulatory authorities, customers, vendors and partners
  • Experience with development and management of internal controls preferred; experience partnering with internal audit a plus
  • Must possess high levels of intellect, drive and energy. Must be self-confident, team-oriented and work with the highest values and integrity
  • Desire to work in an exceptionally fast-paced environment where requirements and deliverables change frequently
  • Previous experience building and/or leading diverse teams
