Job Description

The Contract Manager will support PayScale’s Legal team in a variety of projects. The primary focus of the role is to manage the contract life-cycle, including supporting contracts through negotiation, signature and filing. The right candidate will have a close attention to detail, the ability to manage and prioritize well, and strong organizational and communication skills. The Contract Manager is a key player and experienced problem solver focused on growth, execution and process improvement in a team environment.

  • Manage contract process, including signatures and proper filing of final documents.
  • Act as a subject matter expert on the systems of record used to support contract signatures, reporting and filing.
  • Identify process improvements, shepherd contracts to completion, and ensure that automated systems are functioning correctly.
  • Draft legal resource documents on various topics, with support from other team members.
  • Develop and maintain processes to allow tracking and reporting on legal contracts.
  • Prepare email correspondence, presentations, reports and internal and external communications, as requested.
  • Seamlessly and proactively collaborate cross-functionally with multiple groups to understand and ensure consistency of legal processes.
  • Anticipate and propose mitigation strategies for potential risks in contracting processes and other legal areas asrequired.
  • Handle confidential and highly-sensitive information with professionalism.
  • Conduct various additional other legal and ad hoc projects as required.

Qualifications

Knowledge and Skill Requirements:

  • Attention to detail, well-organized and adept in a fast-paced, high volume environment.
  • Strong project management skills.
  • Ability to communicate and implement legal initiatives and company policy.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
  • Confidence in working and troubleshooting independently.
  • Professional, with cultural awareness/sensitivity and uncompromising ethical standards.
  • Ability to effectively prioritize and escalate appropriately.
  • Demonstrated ability with Microsoft Office Suite and interest in gaining proficiency in new technologies.
  • Ability to effectively interact with all levels and departments.

Education/Experience:

  • 5+ years’ experience in contract management, project management, or as a paralegal.
  • In-house technology company experience preferred.
  • University degree or equivalent required.
  • Developed business acumen, with ability to understand the company’s business and anticipate the nature and magnitude of issues that could arise in various settings.
