Your role and impact

 

As the leader of Government Affairs, you will play a pivotal role in defining, implementing and maintaining policy and government initiatives at the state and federal levels. You will work cross-functionally and externally to drive the key policy initiatives supporting 98point6’s mission. This role reports directly to the General Counsel.

 

Responsibilities

  • Lead strategy, execution, events and special projects in the government affairs space
  • Develop, build and expand relationships with public officials and other influential policy makers at the federal, state and local levels
  • Interact with trade associations and build relationships with aligned industries
  • Work collaboratively with relevant internal stakeholders, public relations, marketing and legal teams to ensure alignment between business priorities and public policy goals
  • Assess and anticipate public policy matters, while overseeing and coordinating external advocacy efforts, outreach programs and key initiatives 
  • Collaborate with internal and external business partners to manage effective cross-functional working groups, regular communication cadence and project follow-up and deliverables in a timely manner
  • Develop and manage 98point6’s political contribution strategies, where permitted under applicable law
  • Manage outside consultants or lobbyists, as necessary
  • Maintain current, up-to-date knowledge of federal and state laws and rules impacting 98point6’s business

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree or equivalent work experience
  • 8+ years experience in government or government affairs, with a strong preference for background in advocacy, grassroots and political campaigns or activities
  • Experience designing and implementing government affairs strategies in collaboration with stakeholders in the telehealth, CMS, health plan and/or benefits, digital health or related areas
  • Impeccable verbal, written, data presentation and interpersonal communication skills
  • Willingness to travel when safe
