In this role, you are an integral part of the Company’s Legal & Regulatory team, working closely with both the regulatory and legal sides of our team and partnering with our Corporate Paralegal. You will help form and maintain our growing portfolio of insurance companies, subsidiaries, and other affiliated entities. You’ll also provide a broad range of corporate governance and regulatory support to the Legal & Regulatory team.

Key Responsibilities include:

• Coordinating with other members of the Legal & Regulatory team to develop and implement corporate governance and regulatory compliance procedures for Trupanion insurance companies and other affiliated entities
• Supporting our regulatory attorneys with applications for business and insurance licenses for our newly formed insurance companies
• Working with various state and provincial authorities to ensure Trupanion entities remain in compliance with applicable corporate and regulatory requirements, including overseeing filing of statutory and quarterly regulatory filings
• Managing and ensuring timely and accurate completion of annual corporate registrations, assumed name filings, business and insurance licenses and similar corporate record requirements in the U.S. and Canada
• Creating organizational documents, including articles of incorporation, board resolutions, stock certificates and other subsidiary governance materials
• Occasionally serving as stock plan administration and internal trade compliance back-up support
• Assisting the Legal & Regulatory team with other legal projects as required, including contract review, securities filings, and strategic transactions

What we’re looking for (Please include a cover letter with your application!):

• Two to three years of law firm or in-house paralegal experience working on general corporate matters
• Experience in regulatory filings and governance for property & casualty insurance companies, a plus
• Bachelor’s Degree, a plus
• Knowledge of U.S. and/or Canadian business and/or insurance laws, a plus
• Experience working with insurance regulators, a plus
• Able to maintain strict confidentiality in a very open and transparent environment
