Overview:

SageSure, a leader in catastrophe-exposed property insurance, is seeking a Special Investigations Manager. As the SIU Manager, you will lead a team of highly skilled Special Investigators responsible for detecting, investigating, and resolving complex insurance fraud cases. In this key leadership role, you’ll be responsible for operational oversight, talent development, and ensuring investigative excellence and compliance across the unit.  

What you’d be doing: 

  • Directly supervise and develop a team of Special Investigators.
  • Review and approve investigative plans, strategies, and outcomes for high-exposure or sensitive cases.
  • Provide regular coaching, performance evaluations, and career development support to investigators.
  • Monitor fraud trends, loss patterns, and SIU data to continuously refine investigative focus areas.
  • Partner with leadership to design and deploy proactive fraud detection initiatives.
  • Ensure investigative work meets regulatory, evidentiary, and internal quality standards.
  • Conduct internal audits or case file reviews to identify training needs or workflow gaps.
  • Serve as the primary SIU contact for internal stakeholders (Claims, Legal, Underwriting, Compliance).
  • Coordinate investigative efforts across departments when fraud involves agents, vendors, or third-party entities.
  • Develop and maintain relationships with external partners such as NICB, law enforcement, and other insurers.
  • Evaluate emerging technology solutions for fraud detection and analytics.
  • Lead or coordinate SIU resources during catastrophe events, ensuring rapid mobilization and fraud response. 

We’re looking for someone who has: 

  • Bachelor’s degree in Criminal Justice, Insurance, or related field (or equivalent experience).
  • 8+ years of experience in P&C fraud investigations, with 3+ years in a supervisory or managerial role.
  • Deep understanding of SIU regulatory frameworks and insurance fraud laws across multiple states.
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills with demonstrated ability to present findings to leadership or regulators.
  • Experience managing case inventory, performance metrics, and team productivity.
  • Preferred certifications: CIFI, FCLS, or other fraud-related designations.

  • Strategic mindset with strong attention to operational details
  • Comfortable managing through ambiguity and shifting priorities
  • Proven ability to lead experienced professionals while fostering learning and growth
  • High ethical standards and a commitment to integrity
  • Familiarity with modern fraud detection systems and data analytics tools
