PR Manager

As Hiya’s PR Manager, you’ll be responsible for a wide-range of tasks as it relates to Public Relations and Social Media. You will work to increase brand awareness for Hiya and Hiya’s partnerships across top-tier media outlets and across social channels. You’ll have very strong written communication skills and will be able to package up newsworthy stories. You must be a storyteller at heart with the ability to deliver compelling news, both hard and soft. The ideal candidate is a strategic thinker who isn’t afraid to roll their sleeves up to produce results. This position reports to the VP, Brand and Communications and will work closely with the product and marketing teams, in addition to key stakeholders across the organization.
What will you do:
- Build and strengthen relationships with top-tier media outlets
- Serve as lead PR contact between Hiya and our partners
- Proactively craft and pitch stories to the media using Hiya's data
- Prioritize and respond to daily inbound requests for data and information from the media
- Build positive awareness for Hiya’s product offerings through media coverage in key outlets
- Proactively manage crisis communications
- Develop written materials, including press releases, briefing docs, FAQs, pitches, etc.
- Research and submit for speaking opportunities and awards
- Act as company spokesperson as needed, and participate at conferences and events as the face of Hiya
- Manage outside PR agency
- Manage Hiya’s organic social media strategy (Twitter, LinkedIn and Facebook)
- Support PR reporting and analysis as well as planning efforts
What we expect from you:
- 5-7 years of communications experience, in-house or agency or both
- Exceptional writing skills, including copy-editing and proofreading skills
- Experience with using social media to amplify media coverage
- Creativity in storytelling
- Possesses ability to engage others; listens and gets clarification; responds well to questions; actively participates in meetings
- Capacity to work across teams at the highest levels of the organization
- Exceptional relationship building, including interacting with executives in a professional manner
- Knowledge of the mobile ecosystem is helpful, but not required
- Prior management of outside PR agency preferred, but not required
- BA/BS degree or equivalent experience
