The social media & content specialist is responsible for defining, overseeing, and executing Avalara’s community engagement strategy. Working with partners in marketing, product, customer support, and human resources, the manager will be responsible for engaging with both internal and external audiences across traditional and emerging community channels.

Job Duties

• Oversee a team of social media specialists
• Act as primary manager for the corporate channels, supported by the team.
• Create, publish and share content daily including but not limited to original text, comments, images, video or HTML to build online connections and encourage target audience members (accounting firms & partners of all sizes) to respond/take action.
• Monitor, moderate, and assist in driving target audience engagement by reviewing online forum content and identifying relevant conversations for Avalara to join. Escalate user generated content, insights, requests, or common themes, where appropriate, to internal stakeholders.
• Analyze social medial activity and community engagement (including but not limited to share of voice and number of discussions) and present social data/metrics, insights and best practices to Marketing Communications team.
• Serve as a customer experience advocate to product teams, marketing, and other stakeholders on top issues resulting from social insights and other customer touch-points.
• Develop and implement best practices in community building/engagement and grow internal and external community participation in owned social properties.
• Work with product teams and other customer advocacy teams to cross-functionally identify processes gaps and create process improvement plans.
• Reproduce and log various customer complaints for product teams to triage.
