Job Description

About Us: The Demand Generation team is a group of innovative marketers responsible for developing PayScale’s top of funnel. We partner with our sales and customer success teams to reach target accounts, buyers, and customers through high-impact initiatives.

About You: Our ideal candidate is a savvy content marketer and optimizer keen on driving digital engagements through personalized, product-based messaging. Taking a piece of content, and positioning it a multitude of ways to ensure the most thoughtful message to our audience, demonstrating consistency across each touchpoint. Crafting the right message, with the right tone, for the right channel to drive engagements. Content optimization is what sets our candidate apart by knowing how each line of copy from the headline to the CTA can make all the difference.

Day-in-the-Life: As the Digital Content Strategist, a typical day may include the following…

  • Partner with your counterparts on the Acquisition and Customer Demand Gen Teams to conceptualize campaign strategy, target audiences, and positioning
  • Partner with the Corporate Content Marketing Team to use corporate content and thought leadership for Demand Gen campaigns, taking hero content and building applicable, campaign messaging to support.
  • Write targeted channel-based campaign copy, layering on persona-based messaging, positioning, CTAs; uniquely pivot copy across channels (i.e., targeted landing pages, email, paid media, webinars)
  • Optimize, optimize, optimize. Live in the data to understand what messaging is working and what isn’t. What is getting us the right qualified leads to engage, and how to scale; Interpret findings to the broader team for continual campaign refinement

Qualifications

Experience:

  • 5-7+ years of content marketing experience, ideally working in/with revenue-based, demand gen capacity
  • Experience writing campaign copy for B2B tech products and audiences
  • Bachelor's degree (preferably in marketing or communications-related field)

Skills:

  • Strong, short-form writer; media writing experience also a plus
  • Understanding of B2B campaign strategies, channels, etc, and how to use various messaging techniques across
  • Strong analytic thought process and ability to interpret and apply findings
  • Highly organized with excellent attention to detail
  • Ability to work with agility across projects, testing as you go

Tools:

  • Basic understanding of Marketo (or similar marketing automation platforms) and paid media platforms; both primarily for campaign and analytics structure
  • WordPress preferable
