We connect our users with merchants around the world. Recently, we launched a startup effort within the company to become a digital publisher and connect users with millions of other brands, products, and services through precisely-targeted advertising on our major platforms to further monetize our assets.  We are now looking for a top-tier digital advertising leader to grow the business. As the Director of Digital Advertising, you will be responsible for developing Groupon’s ad platform and driving the implementation of standard and native advertising on our sites and apps. You will lead the business through an accelerated growth phase as we scale.


You will also work closely with the Senior Director and VP of Media Marketing, category teams, and other product teams to prioritize where to place ads on Groupon. You will determine which and how many ad units to use, and resolve when to show an ad instead of / in addition to a Groupon deal. As our business grows, you will build a team to scale our program and capabilities.


To succeed in this role, you will have solid beliefs about the value advertising can craft for consumers, a deep understanding of marketer and merchant objectives, Groupon’s priorities, and knowledge of the latest in consumer and advertising technology.  We are looking for someone who has shown that they can successfully launch new ad products and who comes with with a breadth of experience across ad ops, trafficking, and yield management.

  • Establish our ad platform product strategy and priorities and bring advertising products to market.

  • Design our native ad platform and yield management capabilities - from MVP to full-fledged offering.

  • You will work a variety of cross functional partners like operations, legal, accounting, finance, sales, and service to design related business processes.

  • Partner with engineering to determine what capabilities we insource vs. outsource.

  • You will provide regular updates on business performance and growth to our Senior Team of executive leaders.



  • Demonstrated experience delivering or leading a native and/or performance-based ad platform

  • You have a working knowledge of the digital advertising ecosystem, and media and technology standards

  • Deep organizational, project management, and communication skills

  • Excellent problem-solving and analytical skills

  • You have the ability to understand, anticipate, and incorporate industry and bold trends - as well as corporate strategy - into business and product plans

  • You possess a strong technical mindset, with a focus on action

  • 5-7 years of software product management experience is strongly preferred
