About Foursquare:

Foursquare is the leading independent location technology company, powered by our deep understanding of how people move throughout the world. Our solutions help businesses make smarter decisions, developers create more engaging experiences, and brands build more effective marketing strategies.

Foursquare’s platform includes Attribution, Audience, Proximity, Places, Pilgrim SDK, Unfolded and Visits. As the industry’s first and only accredited company for location data from the Media Rating Council (MRC), this foundation powers all our solutions — those that exist today and those we have yet to build. Over 14 billion consumer-verified place visit confirmations help us keep our map and models fresh and up-to-date, building a phone’s-eye-view of the world with 100+ million unique places of interest worldwide.

About the role:

Foursquare is looking for a Director, Product Marketing to lead our enterprise product marketing team consisting of three people across Places, Pilgrim SDK, Unfolded and Visits products. In this role as player/coach, you will work cross functionally to align the broader company around our product strategy and deliver compelling sales motions to tell our story to customers. You and your team will work cross-functionally to synthesize feedback from the field and input into the product roadmap and long-term strategy.  Additionally, you will help the team translate strategy and value proposition of the products into key messages and content that are used to drive leads and move prospects through the sales funnel. This is a highly impactful role that will be responsible for ensuring that our go-to-market teams are enabled to activate against our highest priority customers and use cases.  You will be the voice of the customer, with the customers being Engineers, Product Managers, App Developers, and Data Scientists.

  • Strategic planning: partner with sales, product, sales operations, and marketing to develop and deploy annual and quarterly plans, signed to company's OKRs and strategic goals
  • Managing a small team across our enterprise products

  • 10-15 years experience in B2B marketing, preferably within the technology and data sector
  • Deep knowledge of the enterprise data landscape

  • Marketing operations: General familiarity with Salesforce and other CRM tools (sales or marketing) is a plus, as well as experience working with Content Management Systems
  • Technical proficiency:  you don’t need to be an engineer, but you should be able to explain how APIs and SDKs work

  • [Preferred] Digital marketing: you are comfortable crafting email marketing programs and know how to launch multichannel organic and paid media initiatives
  • Client skills: You know how to evangelize our products to clients while gathering feedback on the effectiveness of our key messages/content

An Insider's view of Foursquare

What are some social events your company does?

We have a strong history of fun events in our offices like an annual talent show and outside trips such as sporting events! Since going remote, there have been awesome monthly curated events such as terrarium making and Japanese water marbling classes. Not to mention all the fun competitions for big prizes that happen in between!

Operations Manager

What projects are you most excited about?

Foursquare's working with the best location intelligence data in the industry and we're putting together the sorts of tooling that our customers are going to love! I can't divulge exactly what we're working on yet, but it’s going to be exciting.

Senior Sales Engineer

How does the company support your career growth?

I'm continuously encouraged to connect with colleagues across different teams to discover new opportunities and explore those that interest me. I also appreciate having recurring 1:1 discussions with my manager about what's happening with the company at large and how I can set myself up for success and continuous growth throughout my career.

Senior Account Manager

How do you empower your team to be more creative?

Creativity most often come from spending time with our customers, and thinking about how we as a business can solve their problems. So I encourage my team to maniacally focus on solving our customer's problems. And out of that type of focus comes new product ideas, new features and ultimately bigger and more interesting client relationships.
