Job Duties

In this leadership role, you’ll help us with the following

  • Work closely with product management, sales, sales enablement, marketing and other teams to build customer-facing materials supporting the demand generation, corporate marketing, field and the sales organizations.
  • Perform segmentation and sizing of our target markets, in the U.S. and internationally, including definition of key characteristics that will help us serve these markets well.
  • Analyze the competitive landscape and prepare field and sales organizations for addressing competitive situations.
  • Develop customer evidence, including case studies, customer testimonials and videos to highlight customer success with Avalara products.
  • Build and maintain Avalara's product portfolio and product naming framework.

 

Qualifications (absolute must-haves walking in the door)

  • Relentless focus on direct and indirect customer interaction to understand purchase and usage behavior
  • Strong analytical abilities to develop insights by combining sales and marketing data with data from other sources
  • Strong communication skills, both verbal as well as written, to craft and articulate compelling stories for B2B technology products
  • Ability to collaborate with multiple internal organizations to drive company success
  • Self-motivated and independent thinker who can define initiatives and metrics for success in a fast-changing environment
  • Ability to create tangible marketing deliverables as well as be strategic thinker
  • 10+ years in technology marketing required, prior leadership experience in marketing B2B technologies is a must
  • Ability to demo product is required, past product management or development experience is a plus
  • Requires a Bachelor's degree in technology or business, MBA preferred
