Email Marketing Manager
The Customer Marketing team is dedicated to creating effortless member experiences that help educate and support our members. As the Manager of the Email Marketing team, you'll report to the Director of Digital Operations for Customer Marketing. You'll be responsible for implementing email communications that engage, educate, and retain half a million pet owners, as well as building and scaling a team of email specialists for strategy and execution.
We are looking for a dedicated marketer who has a bias for action and the drive to get stuff done, as well as an approach that delivers both creativity and data-based decision making.
Key Responsibilities Include:
As a member of our team, you'll have the opportunity to make an immediate impact on the rapid growth of our company. You will be responsible for building email campaigns, from audience segmentation to content design and layout through deploying large-volume campaigns according to best practices. You will work with marketing partners to test, optimize, and continuously improve both the process and results of our email marketing for members. You will be part of a team of marketers that delivers an exceptional experience for our members and strong results for our business, in a high-performing environment.
Your responsibilities include:

  • Partner with Customer Marketing and IT stakeholders to launch and continuously improve best-in-class triggered and transactional email & SMS campaigns to our growing member base.
  • Translate business goals into accurate campaign requirements and plans, including coding emails, building segmentation & targeting logic, setting up automations, identifying dynamic content requirements, and driving continuous improvements within the Adobe Marketo platform.
  • Identify and solve for program & team needs to continue scaling email & text marketing across a growing product and brand family.
  • Be the team lead, responsible for hiring, coaching, and developing team members as well as the overall business results & effectiveness of team deliverables.
  • Provide clear, consistent, and frequent communication with stakeholders to define and iterate on strategy, tactics, goals, and performance of campaigns, as well as campaign insights and program recommendations.
  • Develop & implement strategies for using A/B testing to maximize engagement and improve email effectiveness through measurable KPIs.
  • Develop and execute robust, efficient QA and release plans to support accurate delivery of email & texts that are deeply rooted in dynamic content and personalization.


Qualifications (Please include a cover letter with your application!)
Education, Registration & Certification:
Degree in Marketing, Communications, English or related field
Experience:

  • 5-6 years in email & SMS production and deployment using enterprise-level platforms such as Marketo (preferred), Salesforce Marketing Cloud, or ExactTarget.
  • Excellent responsive email coding knowledge (HTML, CSS, AMPscript).
  • Ability to work independently and run multiple projects under tight timelines.
  • Familiarity with project management software such as Workfront, Wrike, or JIRA.
  • Experience working on multivariate or multiregional campaigns.
  • 2-3 years of people management preferred.
  • SQL knowledge preferred.
  • Mobile marketing experience is a plus.
