Position Overview

Geocaching HQ is seeking a talented Acquisition Marketing Manager to add to our small-but-mighty Marketing team! As the Acquisition Marketing Manager, you'll be responsible for a variety of direct acquisition efforts that will drive growth and brand awareness for the global game. The channels and initiatives you work on will be a big contributor to driving the growth of the company.

You'll oversee new user growth strategy, execute acquisition campaigns that deliver results, and build awareness of the game in new and emerging markets. You will also be comfortable with A/B testing, possess strong analytical skills, and develop new ways to reach prospective geocachers and turn them into high-LTV customers.

 

  • Act as the strategic marketing lead for all growth marketing initiatives across the organization
  • Develop, implement, and manage effective growth marketing initiatives and key acquisition campaigns from strategy through the full campaign lifecycle
  • Plan, execute, and measure paid campaigns across multiple channels including Facebook Business Manager, Google Adwords, and Apple Search to attract new players to the game
  • Define clear growth marketing goals and objectives: determine KPIs, implement measurement, and evaluate performance to improve future initiatives
  • Research and test new paid marketing channels
  • Analyze campaign elements such as industry-specific keywords and negative keyword lists, ad extensions, images, and copy for optimal performance
  • Engage across internal teams to drive growth initiatives and expand acquisition programs
  • Develop advertising collateral including digital and print ads, educational materials, promotional brochures, etc. with Creative Studio to support both Geocaching HQ and our promotional partnerships
  • Collaborate on key multi-channel engagement campaigns from content creation to project management with marketing teammates
  • Collaborate with our community engagement team on all social influencer and marketing oriented content initiatives.
  • Serve as a key member of the Influencer Task Force, helping to define and implement strategies to expand the Geocaching Influencer Program
  • Develop and distribute campaign reporting to senior management and other internal stakeholders
  • Collaborate with marketing teammates to maintain a consistent brand voice and message across all platforms
  • Stay up-to-date with growth marketing trends and potential new channels and strategies to keep us ahead
  • Manage outside relationships with vendors for marketing projects as needed

Qualifications:

  • 4+ years of relevant experience, including paid advertising and campaign management
  • BA/BS degree in marketing, communication, or similar field
  • Professional experience in tech, gaming, or outdoor industry preferred
  • Fluency in a second language is a plus (Bonus points for Dutch or French)
  • Proven project management experience from ideation to execution with cross-functional teams
  • PR experience a plus

Required Skills:

  • Proficient with advertising platforms including Facebook Business Manager, Google Adwords, and Apple Search
  • Mastery of marketing KPIs like CPA, CAC, ROI, and LTV
  • Clear verbal and written communication skills
  • Experience marketing to international audiences
  • Proven ability to effectively collaborate with multiple teams
  • Exceptional presentation skills
