About the Role:

Our Internal Communications Specialist is responsible for supporting the growth and scale of a high-impact internal communication program that helps employees understand and advocate for PitchBook’s mission, which is to help people win. The Specialist role is primarily responsible for supporting and driving forward global communication initiatives that involve optimizing PitchBook’s intranet, elevating company culture and increasing awareness and understanding of PitchBook’s company goals and strategic initiatives. Additionally, this role supports the planning, coordination and execution of company-wide events and All Hands meetings. This includes working cross-functionally with executives and key stakeholders and thinking creatively about communication approaches. This role is results-driven and dedicated to solving complex communication challenges impacting PitchBook employees. PitchBook’s internal communications specialist requires a self-starter approach, excellent project management skills and proficient writing and storytelling skills.

The Marketing team at PitchBook is critical to fueling the company’s growth by utilizing a variety of strategies to support our Sales and Customer Success departments grow and retain our client base. The Marketing department is responsible for all demand generation efforts by executing engaging campaigns, effective product marketing strategies, and attending client and trade-show events. The Marketing team is also responsible for promoting the PitchBook brand and managing internal communications.

Primary Job Responsibilities:

  • Support oversight, management, and ideation for PitchBook’s company intranet, Workplace – involves becoming a subject matter expert on tool functionality, monitoring usage and activity drafting content, brainstorming engagement campaigns, and developing analytical recaps for stakeholders
  • Serve as one of the primary points of contacts for the People team’s New Hire Onboarding program, to help integrate new employees into PitchBook’s culture and train new hires on how to leverage PitchBook’s intranet
  • Manage cross-functional relationships with the Creative and Multimedia teams to coordinate supporting materials and resources for company-wide campaigns, meeting, and events
  • Serve as one of the primary points of contact for the Employee Engagement team to support culture-related event planning and promotion campaigns to boost engagement on company-culture and values-based initiatives
  • Collaborate on monthly and quarterly company-wide meetings, in the form of developing workback timelines, managing deliverables, drafting talking points and copy, coordinating with presenters/stakeholders/outside vendors, developing presentation assets and promotional materials, and managing employee engagement tactics
  • Collaborate on messaging development, communication strategy and stakeholder coordination of broader, ad-hoc corporate communications initiatives, like communicating executive moves and changes, new and changing policies, and other company-wide communications
  • Regularly meet and interact with stakeholders across all departments and office locations to generate insights on communication campaign effectiveness and areas of improvement
  • Monitor and proactively check in on the status of team goals and develop in-depth, actionable reporting on a monthly and quarterly basis
  • Take ownership of team project management tool to ensure key deadlines and deliverables are achieved
  • Own ad hoc research projects meant to enhance and support team strategies, which involves effectively identifying actionable takeaways and adapting for PitchBook’s policies and programs
  • Support the vision and values of the company through role modeling and encouraging desired behaviors.
  • Participate in various company initiatives and projects as requested

Skills and Qualifications:

  • A bachelor’s degree in Communications, PR or Journalism
  • 2-4 years of internal communications experience, preferably within a corporate environment
  • Preferred but not required experience managing corporate intranets, including ideation, governance, and reporting
  • Strong written and verbal communications skills, including experience writing experience for executives, company-wide communications or PR-related content (i.e. press releases, pitches, award applications)
  • Passionate about testing new ideas and playing an active role in executing against them
  • Comfortable interacting with executive and senior leaders.
  • Proven initiative, judgment, discretion, and project management abilities with a focus on accuracy
  • Experience in the technology industry is preferred as well as in human resources
  • Proficiency with the MS Office suite, including in-depth knowledge of Outlook, Word and Excel with the ability to pick up new systems and software easily
