About the Role:

The Marketing Manager, Customer Events role is responsible for driving and managing PitchBook owned events and programs to support our Customer Success team. This role will work closely with internal stakeholders to learn and understand the needs of our customers with the primary goal of increasing retention and growing existing accounts. Important to this role, is the ability to work effectively across various internal teams – Customer Success, Demand Generation, Customer Marketing and Product Marketing to build a complimentary in-person approach to connecting with our customers.

Primary Responsibilities:

  • Extend PitchBook’s core value of “Make It Fun” to our customers through shared experiences
  • Develop and execute PitchBook’s owned events strategy designed to increase retention and grow existing accounts
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to determine event/program objectives and drive pre and post execution activities
  • Develop an intimate understanding of the PitchBook brand and culture ensuring brand execution through messaging, design and overall event experience
  • Execute on high-end customer events in San Francisco, New York and London, including customer Golf, Soccer, and other highly interactive events
  • Develop ongoing customer engagement campaigns and programs to increase touch points and interactions with customers (i.e. March Madness Brackets and Fantasy Football Survivor Pool)
  • Manage communication between marketing and customer success to ensure effective event promotion, support, staffing and training
  • Create scalable processes to support Customer Success in-person interactions or local-market sponsorships for client driven events
  • Evaluate, measure and report on strategic effectiveness of events
  • Track and manage budgets each quarter as aligned with event allocation

Skills and Qualifications:

  • A true team player. Ability to work productively across diverse teams in rapidly changing situations. Partnership and collaboration is a fundamental requirement
  • Relentlessly high standards. Demonstrated ability to create successful marketing-driven event programs. Dependable and able to work without significant supervision
  • Ability to simultaneously manage multiple projects and priorities, while being detail oriented and deadline driven
  • Excellent written and oral communication skills. Vendor and contract negotiation and management
  • Technically savvy. Experience with Marketo or other similar marketing automation programs preferred. Experience with Salesforce.com preferred
  • 5-8 years relevant experience in marketing and events
  • Bachelors Degree (BA/BS)
