Data Analyst


We are seeking an energetic and self-driven candidate who will have the opportunity to have a direct impact on improving the user experience of SmartCast, VIZIO's SmartTV system. We've built a system that consolidates the catalogs of streaming providers allowing customers to search and browse across their favorite services without launching each app separately. We have voice integration with all the major ecosystems and we will soon be launching our own voice remote control. With built-in Chromecast and AirPlay, our award-winning platform is enjoyed by millions.


We're looking for someone to use our content management system to influence the content that is displayed on the TVs. You're a detail-oriented person who is comfortable using software tools which can instantly affect the experience for millions of users. You're a true team player who is willing to take on any tasks related to improving our content, data, and overall SmartCast system. You love working on a team, but you can also work heads-down independently to complete your projects. You're a dependable team member and you take pride in your work.


Roles and Responsibilities:

  • Configure the content within SmartCastTV discovery service, including the apps, catalogs, carousels, and titles that appear to end users.
  • Work closely with our Content Editorial Team and provide necessary support and assistance.
  • Proactively monitor, troubleshoot, and tweak configuration in order to provide an optimal experience for end users.
  • Conduct A/B tests to determine optimal content configurations.
  • Use internal tools to curate our data to provide more accurate catalog matching and more representative content metadata.
  • Use analytics and business insight tools to analyze the performance of our content with the goal of increasing user engagement and click-through rates.
  • Use BI tools to create detailed reports for executive team
  • Drive requirements and make suggestions such that the Engineering Team can continue to make improvements to the Content Management Tools.


Required Qualifications:

  • Exceptionally detail-oriented and organized with an ability to multi-task and successfully complete projects.
  • Ability to monitor and manage multiple projects simultaneously.
  • Fluent in Excel with working knowledge of data querying, pivot tables, vloopkups, etc.
  • General tech-savviness and comfortable learning new software systems and tools.
  • Willingness to "wear many hats" with the ability to thrive in a nimble, fast-paced, startup-like environment.
  • Ability to work independently or as part of a team.
  • Excellent verbal and written skills and ability to communicate effectively with all levels of the organization.


Preferred Qualifications:

  • 2-3 years creating dashboards in reporting suites such as Tableau, Quicksight, etc.
  • Knowledge of scripting/coding and ability to write simple SQL queries.
  • Debugging Tools (e.g. Fiddler, Charles, Firebug, etc.).
  • Ability to create, refine and execute processes.
  • Experience managing requests through ticketing systems (JIRA, Bugzilla, Zendesk, etc.).

Our office is in Lower Queen Anne, with views of the Space Needle on your way to work, multiple buses to get places, and near the Seattle Center Park.
