SEM Specialist
System1 specializes in audience acquisition at scale using the latest in data science techniques and paid search strategy. We're hiring an SEM Specialist to join our team and expand PPC campaigns across our owned and operated search engines (dogpile.com, info.com, etc.). Our team works in partnership with Google to deliver best-in-class search results while optimizing PPC ads for revenue and profit across verticals.
Our SEM specialists partner with data, software engineering and UI teams to develop ads and deliver audiences to our sites with data-driven strategies, relying heavily on experimentation and testing. You will manage every stage of campaign performance (keyword research & creation, testing, launch & optimization, lead gen & growth). Work with large budgets and industry KPIs like CPA, CPC, and ROAS to optimize for revenue and profit, while communicating new leads and data insights in real-time.

The Role You Will Have
- Plan, manage and optimize the execution of paid search campaigns with an emphasis on growth and profit generation
- Identify growth opportunities, test hypotheses and scale winning tests to improve SEM traffic productivity and increase ROAS
- Create and execute bid strategies that optimize for KPIs like CPC, CPA, and ROAS (or even tROAS)
- Use Google Analytics and Google AdWords to leverage data in decision-making
- Assist with conversion optimization strategies and A/B testing to improve performance
- Perform ongoing keyword discovery, expansion and optimization
- Coordinate and communicate with other departments and team members, including analytics, data engineering, UI optimization and product management
What You Will Bring
- 2+ years experience directly managing high-volume paid search campaigns (Google, Bing, or Yahoo)
- Extensive experience with Google Analytics, Google Ads (Adwords) and Google Search Console (certifications preferred)
- Experience performing data-driven experimentation and strategic testing to enhance campaign performance
- Experience optimizing for CPC, CPA, and ROAS with budgets exceeding $100k/month
- Ability to manipulate and understand large sums of data using Microsoft Excel (pivot tables, vlookups, formulas, etc.)
- Enjoy being challenged, and continually look for a better or more effective method to accomplish goals
- Critical-thinking skills and the ability to identify interesting trends in data to develop key takeaways and recommendations
- Bachelors Degree in a quantitative field such as Mathematics, Economics, Accounting, Finance, or Business is preferred
