Job Description

The Role:

This Senior Content Strategist will drive both B2B and Consumer content strategy, reporting directly to the Director of Content Marketing. This pivotal role impacts the organization by building awareness around how PayScale can help individuals and employers have better conversations around pay, while improving user engagement, growing traffic, and optimizing conversions. This individual's work will position PayScale as a leader on compensation topics such as pay transparency, pay brand, salary negotiation, pay equity, variable pay, and the business impact of a smart compensation plan. In this role, you will:

  • Drive and develop the long-term content vision and execution plan serving our multiple audiences.
  • Analyze content performance against key business metrics and report out to the team on a regular basis, and adjust strategy/tactics as needed to meet business objectives.
  • Identify missed opportunities and gaps in our content and then create tactical plans to address, collaborating with the rest of the team.
  • Drive editorial calendar planning from blog posts to proprietary studies/reports, aligning to funnel stages, personas, segments and content mapping to the customer and consumer journey.
  • Work with partners, designers, developers, and data scientists on content-related projects.
  • Act as project lead for content packages from inception to launch.

The Person:

You are part digital strategist, part visionary, and part project manager. You love solving problems and identifying how content can engage an audience and move them toward a behavior. Your passion for measurement is only exceeded by your love for a great story. The ideal individual for this opportunity brings the following to the table:

  • You show a strong writing/editing background, and a facility with B2B and consumer topics.
  • You are analytical and love spending time in data to develop actionable insights. You believe that data should be used to drive decisions and validate (or invalidate) assumptions.
  • You have a familiarity with Marketing Automation tools like Marketo, Hubspot, Eloqua, Salesforce, and/or Bizible.
  • You have demonstrable experience with metrics/analytics tools (bonus points for Google Analytics and Domo!) and can build spreadsheets that help answer critical business questions.
  • You are well-versed in working in a variety of content management systems including WordPress.

Qualifications

The Requirements:

  • Bachelor’s Degree preferred – in Journalism, Marketing (or related fields.)
  • 10+ years of experience in content marketing / strategy.
  • You have strong knowledge of SEO standards, methodologies and tools.
