The Team

The Passbook team is leading the charge on expanding our financial services suite. Passbook gives immigrants peace of mind by offering access to banking services they need. They can open a mobile spending account within minutes and use their funds at home or abroad, all without the hassle of minimum balances or monthly fees. We operate like a startup within Remitly, combining the best parts of working in an early-stage venture with the resources of a later-stage technology company. The Role

As Senior Product Marketing Manager of Latin American customers, you will be responsible for positioning, messaging, competitive differentiation, and go-to-market strategies for one of Passbook’s key growth segments. You will be connected at the hip with Product, Design, Engineering and Analytics to drive integrated growth strategies.

You must be passionate about understanding and delighting our Spanish-speaking immigrant customer, and you seek ways to reach and communicate with them authentically; fluency in Spanish is required. You’re skillful across early-stage foundational research and iteration, including defining the market landscape, sizing addressable markets, creating customer personas, and matching the right messaging to the right audience. You can lead competitive analysis and segmentation, conduct quantitative and qualitative customer research, and drive cross-functional alignment to deliver a clear marketing strategy. 

You love the craft of building positioning and messaging for target audiences. Engaging, crisp messages and visuals are natural and come easily to you. You have learned not to hold your creative ideas too tightly, and you’re dedicated to continuously testing and refining approaches. You partner with other teams across Remitly to build products that radiate consistent positioning.

You’ll report to the Director of Growth of Passbook.

Key Responsibilities

  • Be the go-to expert on the Latin American customer segment and the nuances among different countries, and value propositions that resonate with them, based on market and competitor analysis, as well as quantitative and qualitative customer research. You’ll build strong hypotheses for your recommendations, and align with stakeholders on the best approaches.
  • Inform our product roadmap using customer insights, identifying new differentiators that will best serve the needs of our target customers.
  • Prioritize big bets and build go-to-market plans to achieve them, by working with your stakeholders to land on action plans, resourcing, timelines and KPIs for delivery.
  • Explore and launch new channels for growth, including third-party partnerships, customer referrals and promotions.
  • Lead the creation of value propositions, messaging and ads in English and Spanish. You’ll be the main voice and author of our customer-facing messaging, in ads, landing pages and app. You write simple copy that delights customers, backed by your research, insights and testing.  

You’ll have:

  • 5-8+ years of experience in consumer product marketing and a hunger to delight customers
  • Experience marketing products directly to consumers, including identifying key customer segments, and targeting them with value propositions that meet their needs
  • Experience conducting customer development research, analyzing data to inform product marketing, strategy, and product experience 
  • Strength in distilling broad needs into crisp value propositions and positioning statements
  • Experience creating business proposals, getting executive alignment and leading through influence
  • A passion for the startup environment, where we learn fast, move fast and make decisions based on imperfect information
  • A history of making decisions in a way that is consistent with our cultural values
  • Love of art, branding, and design, and a track record of designing compelling narratives
  • Impeccable writing

Extra Credit:

  • Fluency in Spanish, written and spoken
  • Experience creating compelling brand stories, through customer testimonials, video ads and organic content
  • Experience creating and executing performance marketing (Facebook, Google) and email marketing campaigns, including target selection, A/B testing and copy
  • Experience building third-party partnerships 
  • Experience in fintech 
  • Experience working in regulated industries
  • Experience localizing product experiences for customers by country or language
