Expedia is seeking a skilled Senior Technical Writer to join the Knowledge Management team in Lodging Partner Services (LPS). In this role, you will support the business by creating, curating, and maintaining web content for partners and internal teams, enabling our customers and our customer service and sales teams to tackle problems with information. You will work on a team of writers and other content professionals to produce and optimize content for a global audience. You’ll partner with other technical writers, product and process managers, business partners, and others to crisply define user scenarios and create the right content to address user needs.
Who you are:
- You have 5+ years of experience producing procedural and conceptual support content for products, help websites, knowledge bases, or other channels.
- You're able to transform complex information from multiple people and documents into concise, articulate content solutions.
- You leverage user research, content strategy principles, and UX standard methodologies to develop user-centric content solutions.
- You can effectively run multiple projects simultaneously and with a high degree of autonomy.
- You use exceptional written and verbal communication skills to navigate ambiguity and deliver end outcomes that add measurable value to the business.
- You demonstrate strong judgment and business insight that enables you to navigate complex business relationships and conflicting opinions.
What you will do:
- You will work as part of a global team that spans across multiple office locations.
- You will write, curate, maintain, and optimize web help and knowledge base content that adheres to common guidelines for voice, tone, and style.
- You will handle a spectrum of work requests ranging from highly complex projects to regular content maintenance requests.
- You will use data to glean insights into the user experience and tell a story about the value of content in the experience.
- You will provide data-driven content recommendations to business partners and use strong negotiation skills to align on approach and expected outcomes.
- You will mentor and support other writers on the Knowledge Management team by providing feedback and supporting editorial decision-making.
- You will act as a team ambassador, sharing content strategy principles and best practices with partners across the business to establish trust and support for the team’s vision, mission, and strategy.
