We use a series of events to reach our stakeholders including prospects, customers, analysts and press, shareholders, employees, and others. We use these events as ways to influence, motivate, and excite these important audiences.
Among our events are Knowledge (20,000+ person gathering of our customers, prospects, and those changing the future of work), our global Now Forum/Now Summit series, and our annual Sales Kickoff (SKO).
We are looking for a dynamic, innovative, and experienced individual to service as a blend of strategist and MarCom lead – a “Product Mangers” of sorts for the events. You would be focused on what to say, and to whom, to get the target audience to attend the program. Primary activities would include identifying key target audiences; crafting compelling and differentiating message frameworks; maintaining an eye on competitive events; and attracting attendees to our programs via a series of email, print, social media, and other channels.
This person will bring a broad experience and successful track record to collaborate with the VP, Strategic Events and others across the company to:
- Increase event ROI by researching current customers/pipeline data and align to corporate/sales strategies to identify the ideal audience mix at Knowledge and the Now Forum/Now Summit series.
- Bring together Brand, Product, and Event positioning and value propositions to create a compelling and multifaceted Message Framework from which all internal and external communications will flow.
- Develop and maintain a comprehensive library of examples from other similar competitor and partner programs as benchmark of best practices.
- Oversee/manage the delivery of a wide range of print, email, digital, and in person interactions directly with potential attendees and registrants as well as via influencers such as the ServiceNow Sales organization, industry publications, etc.
- Manage a team of full times employees (currently 2-3) and vendors, and work closely with others from creative, events, product marketing, sales, and elsewhere to develop strong editorial calendars and delivery on time and on budget.
As a member of the Strategic Events Leadership Team you will be a key contributor to setting the department’s and events’ directions and visions; driving ROI by putting the right audience at the right event at the right time to drive their buying decisions and preference for ServiceNow; developing, designing, and delivering a wide variety and large quantity of marketing and communications tactics.
Success will be measured by the impact the events and portfolio have on: the attendees perceptions of ServiceNow and our products; building affinity for ServiceNow and our events; and pipeline creation and movement.
To be successful in this role, you should have:
- 7+ years in product marketing, demand generation, audience acquisition, event marketing and communications.
- A widely-respected reputation for: delivering impact, creating clarity in a complex environment, high volume output of high quality communications plans and tactics.
- Successfully built the interest, awareness, and purchase of a product or service such as an event, conference, training program, experience.
- Experience with the business impact and strategic use of large user conferences (10,000+), global seminar series, 1stand 3rd party events in the IT industry.
- Direct experience managing budgets upwards of $1,000,000.
- Direct experience leading diverse teams (employees, vendors, contractors) of 10+ towards a shared vision and goal.
- Exceptional leadership, teambuilding, collaborative skills developing and working with high performing teams who understand business and audience needs. And proven ability to contribute to cross-functional global teams
- Ability to communicate well at all levels of an organization via presentation, written, and spoken channels
