Avalara is looking for a Senior Marketing Manager whom will be responsible for managing and executing revenue-generating programs with our Avalara Included Partners (DSPs) to drive leads and enhance this quickly growing channel in the Very Small Business space at Avalara.

  • Responsibilities will include developing go-to-market strategies for assigned partners and executing on all elements of the demand mix, including sales promotions and incentives, webinars, email communications, product updates, partner training programs, and partner loyalty and incentive programs.  

    This position Reports to the Director of Small Business Marketing and will work closely with Business Development, Sales, Marketing, Product Management and other internal teams as well as partner marketing contacts to drive a best in class partner and customer experience for Avalara’s integrated sales tax solutions. 

    Planning/Strategy

  • Strategic thinker who understands and knows how to market upsell opportunities. 
    -To and Thru-partner communications
    -Strategize with partners on best in class activities
    -Leverage corporate marketing
    -Keep abreast of channel/industry news
    -Work with internal teams to identify sales tools and training programs

    Execution
    – Execute thru-partner demand generation campaigns, including nurtures, direct marketing and partner ecosystem marketing 
    – Manage partner lead lists
    – Work with marketing to support partner events
    – Provide training and support on tools and programs
    – Establish Partner web links

    Programs & Systems
    – Develop vision for channel content plans 
    – Measure and delivers positive ROI on major program initiatives
    – Create repeatable, high-value partner enablement tools
    – Source content for partner newsletter
    – Oversee partner case studies
    – Assist with managing partner awards, appreciation, and incentive programs
    – Utilize partner program tools, such as the Avalara Marketing Center/Social Center

-  SF Partner Tracking - Tools Management
- Knowledge in creative content design and lead generation tools a plus

Qualifications
1. Bachelor's degree in business or a related field, with a background in sales and marketing or account management if not specifically in channel development 
2. Excellent oral and written communication skills 
3. Excellent time management and interpersonal skills 
4. Strong relationship/team building and account management skills 
5. Leadership qualities that reflect a self-motivated individual with the ability to work as part of a team 

Experience
•Five years high-tech industry experience with extensive successful experience with software reselling channels and working with reselling partners 
•Software sales and marketing experience, including ERP, Accounting, CRM, and Software-as-a-Service/Cloud Computing business applications
