Our growth goals, expanding set of capabilities and products, and maturing competitive environment present unique opportunities for our marketing organization. To continue our high-growth trajectory, our enterprise demand-generation engine needs to continue delivering and our SMB demand-generation engine needs to grow by several orders of magnitude. We want our brand, positioning, and authority in the marketplace to be clear and to help us both commercially and with recruiting amazing team members. We also want our marketing organization to be a true partner to our sales, product, HR, engineering, and other teams.

You’re a marketing executive who brings the experience, mindset, motivation, and momentum to help us elevate opportunities to collaborative victory. We’re looking for a VP of Marketing who will educate us, learn from us, and develop a truly world-class, values-centered, metrics-based marketing organization to help us achieve our long-term goals. This role reports to: Tango Card’s Founder and CEO

 

Our VP of Marketing will reside in the local Seattle metro area.

Key Responsibility: Cultivate Demand Generation

  • Develop and maintain a thorough understanding of end-user purchasing behavior and industry trends to ensure effective implementation of marketing programs.
  • Create scalable, predictable, and repeatable pipeline for the sales team to achieve revenue goals that support the company’s dynamic growth.
  • Ensure a highly productive relationship with sales by creating deep alignment on campaign strategy as well as pipeline and success-rate targets. Ensure alignment on strategy, resources, and KPIs. 
  • Lead strategic development of multi-channel direct and channel acquisition campaigns, including search, events, display, email, radio, and ABM. 
  • Forecast, measure, analyze, and report on the impact of demand creation activities on sales pipeline and realized revenue.

Key Responsibility: Develop a Metrics-Driven Organization & Culture

  • Develop and grow a high-performing, metrics-driven marketing organization.
  • Gather data needed to track results and metrics. Create, articulate, and communicate results and how we’re tracking toward goals.
  • Evaluate the performance and ROI of campaigns continuously, adjusting demand tactics and strategy accordingly.
  • Recommend clear course corrections to stay on track of our goals.

Key Responsibility: Design & Manage Our Company Brand

  • Ensure regular and clear corporate brand and product naming strategy.
  • Ensure our brand is the authority in our industry.
  • Validate that our brand reflects our mission and values.
  • Articulate our brand and product strategy consistently to key stakeholders: existing and prospective customers, current and potential employees, and the investment community.
  • Ensure product marketing efforts reinforce our brand and product strategy.
  • Articulate and implement a clear social strategy across our blog, Instagram, Twitter, and other relevant channels.

Key Responsibility: Build an Amazing Team

  • Build, guide, empower, and develop a high-performing marketing team.
  • Ensure goal alignment across the team.
  • Work effectively with other functional areas across the company.
  • Prioritize open, transparent, and proactive communication within the team and across the company.

Our ideal VP of Marketing candidate will encompass most of the following skills and experience:

  • BA/BS in Marketing or related field; MBA or related degree a plus
  • 8 or more years of marketing experience, including 5 or more years of demand-generation experience
  • Clear experience and results crafting strategic marketing plans that support company strategic plans and leading this plan through and across the complete marketing team
  • Experienced professional in B2B digital marketing, marketing automation, lead conversion, nurturing programs, and ABM
  • Experienced professional in demand-generation programs through technology, data, and process, including proficiency with marketing automation and CRM systems
  • Experienced professional in marketing metrics, KPIs, instrumenting, and communicating results
  • Experience establishing and then improving a Marketing Tech Stack with clear qualitative and quantitative reasons for changes and evolution
  • Knowledge of marketing fundamentals, including brand, merchandising, product management, paid search, SEO, social, and channels
  • Demonstrated results growing a B2B software business that has found product/market fit to massive scale (50,000+)
  • Knowledge of Google Analytics and other marketing technology applications
  • Deep critical-thinking skills and metrics-based solution making
  • Excellent listening, written, and presentation skills as measured by peers and company stakeholders
  • Demonstrated ability to predict issues and opportunities and proactively recommend solutions
  • Prior experience in financial services or at a FinTech company a plus
