As the Manager, Business Intelligence for Disney Photo Imaging (DPI), you will lead a high-performing team of analysts to deliver data-driven insights that shape the strategy, operations, and guest experience of a large-scale, world-class photography business.

DPI operates across multiple sales and service channels—including onsite, online, and mobile—and your leadership will be critical in evolving our business intelligence capabilities toward AI-enabled, self-service analytics.

You will define and execute the BI strategy, partner with cross-functional teams (Product, Technology, Finance, Marketing, and Operations), and ensure that our data infrastructure, tools, and insights empower decision-makers at all levels. This role reports to the Director of Digital Experience.

Responsibilities of the Role:

  • Define and lead the strategic direction and roadmap for Business Intelligence in alignment with DPI’s business goals and digital product strategy.

  • Lead, mentor, and grow a team of BI analysts, fostering a culture of innovation, collaboration, and continuous learning where they deliver actionable insights that drive revenue, optimize pricing and packaging, and enhance guest experiences.

  • Drive the evolution of DPI’s BI capabilities from traditional reporting to AI-powered, self-service analytics that enable scalable, real-time decision-making.

  • Partner with stakeholders across Product, Marketing, Finance, and Operations to identify key business questions to provide strategic perspective based on developed reports using various visualization and data modeling methods and present these reports to internal partners and external clients.

  • Collaborate with Marketing and Product in the development of appropriate promotional and packaging opportunities of both new and existing products.

  • Perform detailed analytical support around both the profitability and incremental of various fulfillment, sales channel alternatives, and pricing alternatives

  • Through testing and measurement, determine the optimal product mix, packages, and pricing structure for the online channel.

  • Measure targeted promotional offers and guest email communication that will drive purchase behavior and grow incremental profitability

  • Oversee the design, development, and maintenance of dashboards, reports, and data visualizations using Tableau and other BI tools; ensure performance, accuracy, and relevance of all outputs.

  • Collaborate with data engineering and architecture teams to ensure robust, scalable, and governed data pipelines and models (e.g., Snowflake, SAP, POS, e-commerce systems).

  • Champion the development and adoption of self-service BI tools and certified datasets; provide training and support to empower business users to access and analyze data independently.

  • Ensure data quality, integrity, and compliance through strong governance practices, access controls, and documentation.

  • Leverage advanced analytics techniques—including AI/ML, predictive modeling, and augmented analytics—to uncover trends, forecast performance, and automate insight generation.

  • Translate complex data into compelling narratives and executive-ready presentations that influence strategic decisions.

  • Monitor and evaluate emerging BI technologies and trends (e.g., conversational BI, real-time analytics) to continuously improve DPI’s analytics capabilities.

Qualifications:

  • A minimum of 8 years of experience in business intelligence, data analytics, or related fields, including 2+ years in a leadership or team management role.

  • Proven experience with BI tools such as Tableau (Desktop and Server), Power BI, or Looker.

  • Proficiency in SQL and data modeling; familiarity with Python or R for advanced analytics is a plus.

  • Experience with cloud-based data platforms (e.g., Snowflake, Redshift) and enterprise data systems (e.g., SAP, Adobe Analytics).

  • Strong understanding of data governance, data quality, and security best practices.

  • Demonstrated ability to define and track KPIs, develop strategic insights, and influence cross-functional stakeholders.

  • Excellent communication and storytelling skills; ability to present complex data to technical and non-technical audiences, including senior leadership.

  • Experience in digital product, e-commerce, or imaging/media industries is highly desirable.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Experience implementing AI/ML or augmented analytics in a business intelligence context.

  • Tableau or equivalent BI tool certification.

What you need to know about the Seattle Tech Scene

Home to tech titans like Microsoft and Amazon, Seattle punches far above its weight in innovation. But its surrounding mountains, sprinkled with world-famous hiking trails and climbing routes, make the city a destination for outdoorsy types as well. Established as a logging town before shifting to shipbuilding and logistics, the Emerald City is now known for its contributions to aerospace, software, biotech and cloud computing. And its status as a thriving tech ecosystem is attracting out-of-town companies looking to establish new tech and engineering hubs.

Key Facts About Seattle Tech

  • Number of Tech Workers: 287,000; 13% of overall workforce (2024 CompTIA survey)
  • Major Tech Employers: Amazon, Microsoft, Meta, Google
  • Key Industries: Artificial intelligence, cloud computing, software, biotechnology, game development
  • Funding Landscape: $3.1 billion in venture capital funding in 2024 (Pitchbook)
  • Notable Investors: Madrona, Fuse, Tola, Maveron
  • Research Centers and Universities: University of Washington, Seattle University, Seattle Pacific University, Allen Institute for Brain Science, Bill & Melinda Gates Foundation, Seattle Children’s Research Institute
