Position Summary: In partnership with the Senior Director of Analyst Relations, this role focuses on supporting the efforts of AR staff in establishing, nurturing and building relationships with technology industry analysts to maintain and improve F5's credibility and thought leadership among these constituents.

This position contributes to highly visible engagements, results and outcomes inside F5 that often have the potential to materially impact F5’s entire business.

Primary Responsibilities:

  • Supports AR influential excellence efforts (35% of time)
  • Work in partnership with AR staff to collect and coordinate analyst research and then disseminate knowledge derived from research among key internal audiences
  • Maintains database of analyst contacts and tracks engagement history with targeted analysts; generates metrics from related data
  • Participates in periodic quantitative evaluation of analyst influence to support prioritization methodologies
  • Tracks analyst firm business developments and changes in research agendas and analyst coverage
  • Tracks paid analyst resource allocation and utilization
  • Leverage email and social media to drive F5 and industry messaging through outreach campaigns to increase inbound activity and non-customer interaction
  • Contributes to outbound analyst-facing activity streams (30% of time)
  • Assists AR staff in project management related to F5 vendor or product ratings and industry analyst reports that rank F5’s products and services, including Gartner Magic Quadrants/Critical Capabilities and Forrester Waves
  • Directly contacts analysts and other analyst firm staff in scheduling and coordinating engagements
  • Contribute to demand generation efforts by delivering product content and participating in activities for the marketing programs that drive demand for F5 products
  • May lead analyst relationships and reactive requests
  • Additional analyst relations duties (35% of time)
  • Assists with research, mentorship and insights into the BI & corporate strategy team
  • Supports customer evidence-related activities for AR, such as customer reference identification
  • Contributes to AR activities around product launches, events and announcements

Other Responsibilities:

  • Responsible for upholding F5’s Business Code of Ethics and for promptly reporting violations of the Code or other company policies.
  • Performs other related duties as assigned.

Knowledge, Skills and Abilities:

  • Knowledge of enterprise technology
  • Understanding of the analyst business landscape
  • Persuasive storyteller
  • Experience in presentation and graphic design
  • Excellent writing and editing abilities

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree
  • Prior exposure to analyst relation practices, or related professional responsibilities in leading long-term relationships of persuasion within a context of technical or complex fields
  • Strong interpersonal skills: ability to develop relationships and communicate with all levels of management
  • Strong project management and organization skills
  • Demonstrated analytical skills
  • Self-motivator and results-oriented spirit
  • Naturally curious

Physical Demands and Work Environment: 

  • Duties may be performed in a normal office environment while sitting at a desk or computer table. Duties require the ability to utilize a computer, communicate over the telephone, and read printed material.
  • Duties may require being on call periodically and working outside normal working hours (evenings and weekends).
  • Duties may require the ability to travel via automobile or airplane, approximately 15% of the time spent traveling.
  • Job requires the ability to lift up to 50 lbs.
