About the role:
Coupang is seeking a Contracts Manager to primarily support the Global Import Group. This role is responsible for negotiation and documentation of company’s various supplier agreements and coordinating across brand managers, supply chain personnel, legal, finance and other stakeholders (internal/external), tracking transactions, and developing contract management standards that enable the Global Imports team to work more efficiently and scale in support of our rapid growth. In addition, the role will report and support the Associate General Counsel-US, in research and analysis of various legal issues arising on a day to day basis.
Some specific things you will work on:
- Drafts, reviews, negotiates and administers contracts throughout their life cycle and performs other assigned legal duties with the direction of an attorney in the legal department.
- Proactively plans for, initiates, and manages contract renewals.
- Communicates verbally and in writing with relevant internal team members and supplier contacts
- May occasionally communicate with supplier’s attorney when joined by a Coupang attorney
- Updates and maintains files in the contract management system in a timely manner for internal communication, tracking and reporting purposes
- Assists in developing policies, procedures and practices relating to supplier contract administration
- Provides regular updates to management, attorneys, and the business about the progress of key contract negotiations
- Monitors and reports on supplier performance and their fulfillment of contractual
- Assists in research and analysis of key legal issues.
Requirements
- 3-5 years of contract management or equivalent experience required
- Experience supporting a sales and marketing environment preferred
- Required computer skills:
- Intermediate MS Excel, Word, Share point, and One Note.
- Prior experience using a contract management system.
- Experience in supply chain or purchasing issues preferred.
- Completion of paralegal classes, professional certification or degree preferred
- J.D. Preferred
