Job Description
Director - Global Cloud Observability (Santa Clara, Seattle, Austin, Chicago, Remote)
ServiceNow is one of the fastest-growing enterprise software companies today with over $6 billion in revenue and hurtling towards $15 billion in revenue. To hyperscale, we're hiring a Director of Global Cloud Observability to:
- Scale the organization responsible for telemetry frameworks used throughout ServiceNow's Cloud Infra.
- Scale the observability infrastructure to support terabytes of logs and billions of metric data points daily.
- Shape the Observability team's roadmap and vision.
- Create and evolve the culture of Observability across ServiceNow.
The Team
The Observability team is responsible for providing frameworks, tools, and APIs to allow all ServiceNow engineers and developers to better understand the behavior of features, services, and infrastructure they own and maintain. We teach product, infrastructure, and systems teams how to appropriately monitor features and services they own, provides visualization for monitoring distributed systems, reduces operational overhead, and helps deliver unmatched availability to our customers.

Qualifications
The Success Profile
This is a role for a technical leader well-versed in scaled architectures and experienced in designing, operating, and implementing large scale observability frameworks. Expert-level experience and qualifications to be successful in this role include:
- 8+ years of experience managing teams and delivering Observability on a global scale.
- Deep operational knowledge of SaaS or IaaS at-scale and how to avoid limitations through innovative design.
- 10+ years in software engineering, networking, and distributed systems.
- Extensive experience translating business needs into engineering opportunities focused on scale, performance, reliability, efficiency, and product velocity.
- Experience growing and managing diverse, talented, global engineering teams.
- Ability to represent and promote complex business or technical concepts both internally and externally.
- Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, related technical field, or equivalent practical experience.

Required in Office
A required in office work persona is defined as an employee who is contracted to work from or aligned to a ServiceNow-affiliated office. This persona is required to work from their assigned workplace location 100% of the work week based on the business needs of their role.
Flexible
A flexible work persona is defined as an employee who is contracted to work from or aligned to a ServiceNow-affiliated office and will work from their assigned workplace location roughly 3 days/week or less (generally around 40-60% of the work week). Flexible employees may choose to work the remaining working time from their workplace location or home. Flexible employees are required to work within their state, province, region, or country of employment.
Remote
A remote work persona is defined as an employee who performs their responsibilities exclusively outside of a ServiceNow workplace and is not contracted or aligned to a ServiceNow-affiliated office, including those whose place of work (pursuant to their terms and conditions of employment) is their home. Remote employees are required to work within their state, province, region, or country of employment.
