The Director of Solutions Consulting is responsible for managing the team of tax and technology experts that assist the Sales & Customer Account Management organizations in selling to Avalara’s prospective and existing customers.  Additionally, the position plays a key role in defining sales organizations asks of the product and engineering organizations, being a focal point for customer and prospect feedback and need definition.  The role will interface organizationally to drive improvements that solve prospect and customer problems and ensure smooth launch of new products and services.

Job Duties

• Manage direct reports across multiple products & industry focuses
• Coach team members on key solution consulting activities to support the sales organization
• Lead and refine operational processes that allow the team to grow without adding headcount to achieve scale
• Work closely with the product and engineering organization to drive product improvements
• Be Customer Facing
• Serve as an escalation path for sales and customer account management issues
• Must understand our industry, products, and services and be able to inform the organization from the customer’s perspective

Job Specific Knowledge & Skills:
 

• 10+ Years of Indirect Tax Compliance Experience
• Experience Managing Professional Service Organizations or Pre-Sales.
• 4 year Undergraduate degree
