Job Summary

The role of the field service supervisor is to safely and effectively manage and maintain our Harvester units. The WISErg Harvester is a self-contained and easy-to-use machine that liquefies large volumes of landfill-bound food scraps – including solids like bones and cherry pits – into ingredients for our fertilizer. Additionally, in this role you will provide supervision and mentoring for our field service technicians who perform regular site inspections and routine and preventative maintenance to ensure continuous, trouble-free operation.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities

  • Supervision of 1-2 Field Service Technicians
  • Maintain and repair WISErg Harvesters and related equipment such as motors, pumps, aeration systems, sensors and electrical components
  • Manage, schedule, and provide support for trucking contractors to deliver raw field material to the fertilizer plant (night operation)
  • Manage and coordinate relationships with other material providers, product distribution and transloading operations
  • Creation of SOP’s, manuals, and other technical documentation for service technicians and other operations involving WISErg fertilizer
  • Comfortable using power tools, hand tools and electrical testing instruments
  • At ease following manuals, schematic diagrams and blueprints
  • Perform system and component testing to verify that user operations are completing as specified
  • Work with engineers, scientists and other technical specialists to solve problems in the field
  • Document and report all visits to customer sites and work performed
  • Train customer's staff in operation of Harvester and related equipment
  • Take ownership, drive results, and get the job done regardless of the obstacles

Requirements

Ability to recognize common mechanical and electrical components 3-5 years supervisory experience

  • Experience servicing:

- 3 phase induction motors

- Pumps Electrical and controls components

- Wireless communication equipment

- Environmental sensors

- PLC Control Systems experience helpful 

  • Technical or scientific education or 2-4 years’ work experience in a technical setting
  • Experience working the field Highly organized with a high attention to detail
  • Apply system troubleshooting skills effectively Thrives in a highly dynamic environment
  • Effective customer relations skills
  • Ability to interact with vendors
  • Team player with good written and verbal communication skills
  • Driver’s license with a good driving record
  • Experience with email and word processing applications, preferably Microsoft Office suite
  • In order to be qualified for a Field Service Lead position at WISErg, any candidate must meet the following qualifications:
  • Must be able to lift 50 pounds
  • Must be able to wear a safety harness that can support up to 300 pounds
  • Must be able to wear safety protection devices, including safety glasses or goggles and face shields
  • Must be able to climb ladders up to 30 feet
  • Must be able to stand on one’s feet for extended periods of time, often up to four hours
  • Must be able to tolerate working conditions which include (1) working outdoors in all types of weather; (2) heavy exposure to yeast and vinegar odors and particulates; and (3) heavy exposure to bees during warmer months.

Education

  • High School Diploma or equivalent
