WISErg Corporation (WISErg), based in Redmond, WA, is a bio-tech Company established in 2010. As its first line of products, it has developed and globally distributes a new generation of organic agriculture products that are used to grow the food of the future. The Company’s products are fully sustainable and derived from food waste which is then manufactured using a patented zero-waste biological digestive process that retains greater than 90% of the nutrient value in the food inputs. The Company is entering its third year of commercial sales and has an aggressive domestic and international growth strategy. 

Job Summary

You will be working in a fast-growing company, working to maintain our Harvester units. The WISErg Harvester is a self-contained and easy-to-use machine that liquefies large volumes of landfill-bound food scraps — including solids like bones and cherry pits — into ingredients for our fertilizer. Our technicians perform regular site inspections and perform routine and preventative maintenance to ensure continuous, trouble-free operation.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities

• Maintain and repair WISErg Harvesters and related equipment such as motors, pumps, aeration systems, sensors and electrical components
• Comfortable using power tools, hand tools and electrical testing instruments
• At ease following manuals, schematic diagrams and blueprints
• Work with engineers, scientists and other technical specialists to solve problems in the field
• Document and report all visits to customer sites and work performed
• Train customer's staff in operation of Harvester and related equipment
• Take ownership, drive results, and get the job done regardless of the obstacles 

Requirements

• Ability to recognize common mechanical and electrical components
• ​Technical or scientific education or 2-4 years’ work experience in a technical setting
• Experience working the field
• Highly organized with a high attention to detail
• Apply system troubleshooting skills effectively
• Thrives in a highly dynamic environment
• Effective customer relations skills
• Ability to interact with vendors
• Team player with good written and verbal communication skills
• Driver’s license with a good driving record
• Experience with email and word processing applications, preferably Microsoft Office suite
• To qualify for a Field Service Technician position at WISErg, any candidate must meet the following qualifications:
• Must be able to lift 50 pounds
• Must be able to wear a safety harness that can support up to 300 pounds
• Must be able to wear safety protection devices, including safety glasses or goggles and face shields
• Must be able to climb ladders up to 15 feet
• Must be able to stand on one’s feet for extended periods of time, often up to four hours
• Must be able to tolerate working conditions which include (1) working outdoors in all types of weather; and (2) heavy exposure to yeast and vinegar odors and particulates.

Education

• High School Diploma or equivalent
• Two to three years of verifiable maintenance work experience, or completion of a related technical school
