Blue Nile is looking for a passionate and talented Fraud Prevention Specialist to join our Loss Prevention Department’s Order Review/Fraud Prevention Team.  Our customer service goal is to enhance and grow the brand connection experience for our Blue Nile customers. This position efficiently reviews a high volume of customer orders and e-mails each day, interacting with customers, financial institutions, and cross functional teams and performs fraud prevention activities, order review and processing as well as researching and solving post-sale issues.

Responsibilities:

  • Accurately review and efficiently process all orders within service level agreements.
  • Proactively read and take action on daily operations updates as needed
  • Communicate with credit card companies, banks and financing companies to authenticate and authorize purchases
  • Assess risk and research potential fraudulent orders and communicate with internal risk management team providing relevant information to prevent credit card fraud and identify theft
  • Identify fraud trends and organized fraud groups
  • Actively participate in required training and development to maintain current knowledge of fraud prevention processes, tools and trends
  • Develop and complete special projects as assigned by the Senior Manager of Loss Prevention
  • Liaison with local, state and federal law enforcement and refer information for investigation and possible criminal prosecution
  • Successfully conduct order review and fraud prevention investigations utilizing established investigative procedures and techniques
  • Manage the order review queue to meet established deadlines

 Qualifications:

  • Ability to resolve conflicts in facts and evidence
  • Previous fraud or loss prevention experience preferred
  • Ability to successfully manage peak volumes and shifting priorities in a dynamic work environment
  • Ability to conduct interviews and investigations to recognize, explore and exploit leads, detect discrepancies in evidence/information and distinguish between relevant and irrelevant data for the purpose of preventing fraud
  • Expressed commitment to the principles of quality performance, continuous improvement and workplace excellence
  • Consistently maintains the highest levels of professionalism and integrity in discharging the duties of the position and managing highly sensitive PII and PCI data
  • Exhibits a high degree of tact, diplomacy and superior judgment when interacting with internal/external clients and customers
  • Ability to successfully interact and problem solve with peers in a productive and mutually respectful environment
  • Incumbent is available to work flexible working hours/shifts (including weekends) to meet the organizational and programmatic needs of the Loss Prevention Department – Order Review/Fraud Prevention Group

  • Ability to adapt to changing priorities, meet deadlines and work well under pressure
