The Fulfillment Operations Supervisor leads the timely fulfillment and distribution of customer orders. This role supervises the fulfillment and warehouse processes including receiving, inventory management, picking, packing, and shipping. The Supervisor will also be responsible for leading, coaching and developing fulfillment staff.

  • Work closely with Business Operations to support the design and implementation of approved processes. Drive cost effective practices aligned with the strategic direction of Operations.
  • Oversee the tactical execution of the fulfillment and distribution teams, including all related duties such as: scheduling, resource planning and internal audit of business processes.
  • Work closely with the Fulfillment Center Operations Manager to successfully execute the strategic direction of Operations.
  • Work closely with the Fulfillment Center Operations Manager to identify and propose solutions for operational efficiencies and employee or team development.
  • Assist the Fulfillment Center Operations Manager in driving key performance metrics in the areas of safety, quality, delivery and costs to achieve departmental goals.
  • Train and directly supervise area leads to ensure all fulfillment employees are maintaining compliance with standard work practices.
  • Responsible for safety of the Fulfillment Distribution Center personnel; timely completion of incident reporting as required.
  • Teach Standard Work and associated processes in all Distribution Center work areas.
  • Build and maintain analytics; aggregate data and report trends.
  • Work with the warehouse Facilities team to ensure all equipment issues are reported and equipment is maintained in optimal operational condition.
  • Ensure accurate and timely resource planning including labor requirements to meet customer demand.
  • Align with the business partners to resolve issues and ensure the highest level of service.
  • Manage performance through motivation, mentoring and coaching.
  • Improve employee engagement by communicating a clear vision of operations strategy.
  • Monitor employee attendance, productivity and other performance indicators; take appropriate corrective action as required.

Must-Have Super Hero Gadgetry

  • Experience directly managing fifty or more members in a high-paced, large scale distribution warehouse.
  • Proven analytical, organizational, tactical and time management skills with the ability to prioritize tasks.
  • Working knowledge of automated distribution and warehouse management systems.
  • Ability to teach Lean principles including Standard Work, 5S and Kanban and problem-solving methodologies such as DMAIC and/or 8-Step (TPS standard.)
  • Strong interpersonal communications skills.
  • Working knowledge of Microsoft Office.
  • Flexibility to support a multi-shift operation.
  • Ability and passion to learn new fulfillment methodologies – absorb new information and concepts quickly.
  • Strong sense of urgency required to work in a fast-paced environment.
  • Responsibility, maturity and leadership ability.
  • Initiative to work with minimal instruction or direction.
  • Three or more years of retail distribution experience (business or consumer).
  • Associates Degree or equivalent work experience.

Work Environment

  • The noise level in the work environment is usually moderate. While performing the duties of this Job, the employee is regularly required to stand for long periods of time; use hands to finger, handle, or feel and talk or hear. The employee is frequently required to reach with hands and arms. The employee is regularly required to stand and walk. The employee must frequently lift up to 35 pounds and occasionally use a pallet jack to move product weighing up to 525 pounds.
