Our partner strategy has produced 700+ certified integrations and resulted in a powerful competitive ‘moat’.  We are hiring an executive-level leader who can own Avalara’s most strategic partners and take those partnerships to the next level. This person is responsible for establishing and maintaining executive relationships within a set of partners and align the necessary senior leaders thought-out Avalara where appropriate.   This person will have responsibility for our go‐to‐market strategy, tracking and directing operational activities and driving / growing all revenue generated via their partner portfolio.

This person will drive strategy and execution of programs to grow the partner network and is responsible for the programs and revenue across these partners. The GM is expected to work strategically and lead a matrixed partner team collaborating with the sales team, SAM/channel teams, marketing team, product development, Customer support, and services teams, to run a fully integrated channel partner strategy and ecosystem. This role is a senior leadership role that is a high‐impact, partner revenue generating management position that plays an integral role in the success of the overall Customer Account Management and sales team and company.

Some of the things you’ll be doing include …

  • Develop executive relationships within the partner as appropriate
  • Develop and implement the overall partner strategy for the field and company.
  • Serve as point person for major partner escalations and issues
  • Prioritize product/content roadmap for partner ecosystem – represent these opportunities with product management team
  • Understand PPO and CPO data for partner’s customers and prioritize issues with cross functional leaders
  • Manage programs to maximize net new and existing sales revenue.
  • Tracking and reporting on overall partner growth, revenue, penetration and opportunities 
  • Responsible for creating and driving Avalara channel programs, including assisting with program definitions, oversight, pricing, and channel resources
  • Work directly with cross functional teams to recommend new channel marketing programs, partner management approaches, pricing, etc.
  • Leadership and oversight of the cross functional channel team.

 

Qualifications:

  • 15+ years’ channel experience working for or with Software Integrators, Accounting Consulting Practices, or Value Added Resellers from publishers like OracleNetsuite, SAP, Microsoft, Salesforce, Sage Intacct, Infor, IBM, Acumatica, Magento, and Zuora, and others.
  • Strong executive relationship management skills
  • Energy and Enthusiasm. Experience with building, developing and growing channel life cycles.
  • Technically Savvy. Experience with analytics, data, databases, predictive modeling, or business intelligence preferred.
  • Bachelor's Degree with a technical or business focus preferred
