The Business Operations team partners with OfferUp leadership team and operational leaders to drive key strategic initiatives, address critical business challenges, and develop and execute strategies that drive opportunities in OfferUp’s business.
Responsibilities
- Lead and manage OfferUp Business Operations (Biz Ops) team
- Drive weekly, monthly and quarterly business operation meetings across leadership
- Support ongoing analysis of user behavior, product usage, new feature releases, and overall business performance, providing actionable insights
- Work in partnership with executive leadership to identify scalable business opportunities, then help build operational plans to execute against these opportunities
- Develop a deep understanding of OfferUp’s business operations; including internal processes, cohort metrics, and competitive context
- Build strong peer-level relationships with senior management across the business and engineering organizations
- Work with cross-functional teams to help guide initial implementation of strategic plans
- Communicate findings to senior management and to the broader organization
- Conduct operational Deep dives into functional topics as needed
Requirements
- Bachelor degree or equivalent, MBA preferred
- 15+ years of experience — in management consulting, investment banking, private equity, or strategy/business operations/analytics for a software company; experience with a rapidly scaling business is a plus
- 7+ years experience managing and leading others
- Highly analytical and able to extract business insights from analysis; strong financial modeling or statistical analysis skills are a plus
- Practical business sense with the ability to translate between strategic business decisions and their operational implications
- Comfort with ambiguity, uncertainty, and a rapidly evolving business landscape
- Humble attitude with a willingness to shift from high-level strategic thinking to stepping in and helping to drive implementation alongside functional teams
- Strong communication skills with the ability to distill complex issues and detailed analysis
- Strong relationship-building skills and experience working with senior executives
- Experience and enjoyment balancing multiple priorities and varied projects
