Head of Premium Pet Food- Category Management

Chewy is currently seeking a Head of Premium Pet Food to join our growing and fast-paced team. We have very ambitious plans for this important and rapidly growing business. In this role, you’ll own the P&L, the business strategy, and lead development of a best-in-class Premium shopping experience. At Chewy we believe innovation is rewarded and execution is valued. What You’ll Do:
- Build out and own Chewy’s Premium Pet Food experience to be best-in-class
- Have full P&L ownership
- Create the strategy and lead team encompassing assortment, pricing, promotions, vendor performance, etc.
- Build the business to deliver rapid growth in sales /profit and in parallel launch new categories and products
- Develop further the merchandising strategy as well as related programs and projects. Implement resulting action plans and ensure operational excellence and high delivery accuracy
- Use customer insights to develop strategies and plans to both recruit new customers to Chewy and to deepen existing customer relationships
- Work cross-functionally with marketing, merchandising, supply chain management, finance, tech, etc. to ensure close collaboration as well as holistic planning and execution
- Manage all vendor relationships critical to the vertical
- Hire and develop a high-performance team
What You’ll Need:
- 10+ years of holistic business experience in top ecommerce, retail, FMCG, or consultancy organizations
- 5+ years of team leadership experience
- Depth of experience as the sole P&L owner of an important business and/or big product unit
- Demonstrated success building and rapidly scaling complex businesses at high growth rate
- Exceptional competencies in vendor management/merchandising, sales, marketing, and general management
- Skilled in go-to-market, and with focus on executing in excellence
- Strong comprehensive business acumen and the willingness to move fast
- Fluent in finance, pricing, supply chain management, and operations
- Excellent strategic and analytical skills
- Deep understanding of product & project management
- Superior sense of ownership paired with a high-quality bar and an unshakable growth mindset
- Strong leadership skills and track record developing and managing a high-performance team
- Superb communication skills combined with the ability to influence cross-functional partners
- Must be open to travel if needed
- Must have a Bachelor’s Degree,
- MBA preferred
- Business and leadership experience in market-leading organizations; both in bigger organizations and a start-up businesses
