IT Specialist

As an IT Specialist at Remitly, you have the opportunity to make huge impact in all areas of our organization by providing superb infrastructure and operational support. You'll gain high visibility to multiple functions, projects and teams within our quickly growing company, and provide IT support to our growing team of around 300 on-site employees in Seattle. You'll be the first point of contact for computer-related needs within the organization, including basic installs, diagnoses, repairs, maintenance and upgrades on desktops, laptops, mobile devices, printers and telephony equipment. You'll also troubleshoot problem areas and provide end-user assistance where required, in addition to owning facilities related projects that support our office and equipment needs.
Responsibilities
- Perform Tier 1 onsite analysis, diagnosis, and resolution. Escalate if needed.
- Respond to incoming emails, instant messages (Slack), and alerts regarding employee problems
- Administer and resolve issues with associated end-user workstations and software products
- Assist with facilities and inventory related projects including equipment tracking and ordering
- Perform basic computer administration tasks including Active Directory administration, MDM administration, and automated software deployment
- Manage/administer business apps like Office 365, Azure AD, and G Suite.
- Clearly communicate technical information, both verbal and written, to a wide range of end-users.
- Provide excellent support for internal customers and liaise with vendors when escalating issues as necessary
- Recommend procedure modifications or improvements
- Display patience and professionalism working with employees having a range of computer competencies
Requirements
- Minimum 2 years of technical support experience required
- Flexibility - our environment is constantly changing and successful candidates should be comfortable with some amount of ambiguity
- A strong sense of ownership and a "do what it takes" attitude
- Expertise in deploying and managing A/V systems including software and hardware including VoIP solutions
- A thorough understanding of the principles of networking and the OSI model
- Strong understanding of DHCP, TCP/IP and DNS.
- Experience with Windows 7/10/Server 20*, macOS, Linux, iOS, and Android
- Strong investigative skills in a fast-paced, high-growth environment
- Full time hours required, (with additional hours as necessary)
Nice to have
- Experience with a general scripting language (Python, Powershell, etc).
- Exposure to deployment service such as Jamf, Addigy or similar.
