Auth0 is a pre-IPO unicorn. We are growing rapidly and looking for exceptional new team members to add to our teams and will help take us to the next level. One team, one score.

We never compromise on identity. You should never compromise yours either. We want you to bring your whole self to Auth0. If you’re passionate, practice radical transparency to build trust and respect, and thrive when you’re collaborating, experimenting and learning – this may be your ideal work environment. We are looking for team members that want to help us build upon what we have accomplished so far and make it better every day. N+1 > N.

Auth0 is looking for an IT Systems Engineer to join the IT Team and empower all Auth0 employees to do their best work. You will develop creative solutions to new challenges and build new tools and systems for teams across the company.

You will be the first member of the new IT Systems team, and will have the opportunity to design this new function as we build it. The IT Team is a flexible and agile team, responsible for a wide variety of services and processes, and those responsibilities are constantly expanding - that’s where you come in! IT is primarily focused on support, and you will take us beyond support and into proactive solutions.

Task automation and tool creation are a big part of Auth0's culture, and must also be a key component of our IT solutions. You will be responsible for IT automation, and will also work with other teams throughout the company to automate processes and integrate various systems to drive productivity and efficiency. There are many, many opportunities for automation!

You will own components of our internal architecture (like VPN and DNS services) and will work closely with our Security, Identity, and Compliance teams on various initiatives. And you will of course work with the IT Support team to improve our own processes and solutions! You will be the primary technical resource for the rest of the team.

This is an exciting time to join Auth0 as we are growing quickly and there are plenty of opportunities to learn and implement new technologies. We will invest in your development and support your growth with the company. Auth0 has a distributed, international workforce with an inclusive culture that we are proud of.

In this role you will:

  • Automate processes and workflows across Auth0, utilizing integrations, scripts, Slack bots, standalone apps, and any other solutions you can think of
  • Develop creative solutions to unexpected problems, working with different teams throughout the company
  • Design (and redesign) our internal tool infrastructure as we grow and our requirements change - what worked at 200 employees may not be the right solution anymore!
  • Enhance our employees’ IT Support experience through better tools, processes, and automation (are you noticing a pattern yet?)
  • Build applications and tools to support the rest of the IT Support team
  • Administer a wide variety of external cloud services
  • Troubleshoot all kinds of applications, systems, and services as needed
  • Provide excellent customer service with a timely response and resolution to IT requests as needed
  • Help create and grow the new IT Systems function within IT @ Auth0

Our ideal candidate:

  • You are a problem-solver and are not intimidated by uncertainty - you will be thinking on your feet and researching problems on the fly
  • You are highly organized. With many people doing a variety of things in a dynamic company, strong organizational skills—both for yourself and for the team—will be required
  • You have 3 years minimum experience in automation and scripting
  • You have proven experience automating processes and utilizing APIs
  • You have strong knowledge of Bash, Python, and/or Node.js
  • You have some exposure to AWS
  • You have an in-depth knowledge of macOS
  • You have experience with SSO tools and technologies, like Auth0, SAML, and OAuth
  • You have experience with device management solutions such as JAMF and Google MDM
  • You enjoy sharing your knowledge and experience with others and enjoy teaching your teammates things you know
  • You use your great people, communication, and customer service skills to resolve issues
  • You have excellent English speaking and writing skills

Bonus points for any of the following:

  • Relevant technical certifications, specifically for AWS and JAMF
  • CS degree, or similar engineering certificate
  • Experience working with a remote workforce and in a fast-paced startup environment
  • Experience with Google G Suite, Atlassian Jira and Confluence, SumoLogic, Slack, Zoom, Github, and other applicable cloud tools
  • Understanding of secure networking best practices and infrastructure concepts
  • Experience building and maintaining a corporate VPN
  • Experience managing DNS records and domains
  • Experience managing an endpoint protection platform like Crowdstrike or Carbon Black
