The PB Learning team is a global team, with teammates in Seattle, New York & London and serves all of PitchBook's learning and development needs in a way that boosts individuals' success. Our team is a focused, effective and really fun group of individuals with a passion for developing people and creating effective and lasting change. This role will greatly contribute to the operations management, administration, communication and marketing of all learning and development programs, experiences and resources.
The Learning Technology Manager leads the planning and execution required to deliver the best learning management and operations in the industry, with a relentless focus on continual improvement, innovation and user adoption. This role will be the lead administrator for our LMS and the PB Learning central hub for PitchBook's employees. Primary areas of focus are managing the LMS and other central learning resources, as well as working with PB Learning teammates to develop and deliver on implementation plans for PB Learning programs.
Primary Job Responsibilities:

  • Own and lead the administration of the Learning Management System
    • Manage the day-to-day operations and maintenance of the Learning Management System (LMS) by collaborating with instructional designers and program managers to maintain the LMS content quality, access to learning and high-quality user experience
    • Develop, build and maintain all elements related to LMS functionality, including but not limited to content integrations and creation, curriculum programs, LMS structure, program/course assignments and reporting
    • Provide end-user troubleshooting, issue resolution and monitors reoccurring issues, system/data or process gaps and to proactively identify improvements and enhancements
    • Develop standardized LMS operational processes and procedures, guidelines and documentation related to LMS use and maintenance
    • Train and develop a network of local/regional LMS administrators to roll out new standard operating procedures and policies related to the proper security and management of the LMS
    • Develop and distribute monthly Learning scorecards and KPIs to ensure departments have the most current information on employee training status; respond to ad-hoc requests for training records and compliance metrics
    • Stay current on LMS and learning technology industry trends, vendors and best practices ensuring that PitchBook Learning leverages emerging technologies to deliver best-in-class employee development
    • Assist with other HR or content services platforms beyond the LMS as a subject matter expert for learning technology
  • Manage the operations associated with all PB Learning Programs (working with the Training Coordinator) 
    • Accountable for the operations/logistics associated with Employee Development program/classes and new hire programs
    • Accountable for the Employee Development Programs SharePoint site, including programs calendar
    • Set performance goals and project deadlines that align with PBLearning's larger plans
    • Create and implement communications/marketing tactics for Employee Development Programs
  • Supervise Training Coordinator
    • Delegate work to the Training Coordinator, track progress and provide constructive feedback throughout the execution
    • Address issues with work quality and other concerns in an effective, timely manner
    • Ensure employees adhere to company policies and legal regulations
    • Serve as a link between Training Coordinator and PBLearning leadership
    • Conduct performance reviews, motivate direct report(s) and provides coaching to support continuous improvement

Skills and Qualifications:

  • 3+ years of experience administering learning and content management systems (Litmos, Cornerstone or similar preferred)
  • Knowledge and experience with online learning protocols (e.g., SCORM, AICC, Tin Can/xAPI)
  • Proficient skill level in Microsoft SharePoint and Microsoft BI and/or Tableau
  • Experience managing learning operations, process improvement activities or implementing technology to support L&D programs
  • Ability to build effective relationships with the direct report(s), immediate team and cross functional partners and problem-solve with technical, process and partnership challenges
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills
  • Creative thinker and self-starter with a proactive approach to resolving problems and issues
  • Ability to juggle multiple priorities and complete work with a high level of quality and attention to detail
  • Brings a customer service mentality to the work
  • Works well independently and as part of teams
  • Duties are performed in a normal office environment while sitting at a desk or computer table. Duties require the ability to utilize a computer, communicate over the telephone and read printed material
  • Duties require periodically working outside normal working hours (evenings, early mornings)
  • Bachelor's degree preferred
  • A plus if previously supervised 1+ people
  • A plus if previously experienced managing an LMS vendor/system change
