Lead Program Manager, Localization - Location Flexible
Role Description
The localization team helps bring the Dropbox experience to users worldwide. To support our users outside of the United States, we partner with teams across the company to strategize on, plan for, and produce localized content. We are responsible for translating and bringing to life the Dropbox style, tone, and voice for users in 21 languages, across 200+ countries and territories. We are currently seeking an experienced localization program manager to lead the international team.
Responsibilities
- You will lead the International Expansion team, and drive the execution of international initiatives.
- Provide leadership and mentorship for the localization team, including contractors.
- Foster relationships with internal key stakeholders in partner teams (marketing, engineering, etc..) to support your team in defining and driving the cross functional strategy and delivering high quality translations.
- Ensure all international programs have simplified, repeatable, documented processes.
- Define team’s yearly and quarterly initiatives, set prioritization and escalation strategies. Establish success measurements and reporting.
- Implement clear and regular communication cadences.
- Coordinate with colleagues from cross-functional teams to continually and selflessly optimize your business in the best interest of our customers.
- Partner closely with your team executing vendor engagement to continuously improve forecasting, efficiency, and to deliver localization excellence.
- Recognize opportunities for improvement and drive the implementation forward.
Requirements
- 5 + years working experience of program management within the language services industry.
- 3 + years as a manager/leadership within the language service industry
- Demonstrated tenacity, resilience, and leadership experience that enables you to organize and lead programs and teams (includes employee and contractors), overcome challenges, and propose solutions. We seek a highly motivated self-starter with a track-record of “figuring it out.”
- Experience leading translations cross functional programs to delivery.
- Significant people and organizational management experience, with specific experience with distributed global teams.
- Demonstrated success in business analysis and strategic planning. Ability to make data and insights accessible to a non-expert audience.
- Proven effectiveness at delivering impactful presentations, great interpersonal and communication skills.
- Curiosity for language, culture, regional nuance, and the desire to continually build empathy.
- Fluency in one of the 21 Dropbox languages (other than English) is a plus.
