The Role

The future of our business is compelling, and we are focused on building a robust, innovative New Market Team enabling customers across various industries. In this role your job is dedicated to driving measurable outcomes for Outreach in our New Market segment. We're moving from scrappy to scale, and we need best-in-class programs and processes to achieve our strategic goals.

 We're looking for a talented and driven Director with a passion for sales driven by business intelligence and data. This position will require effective use of Tableau and SFDC dashboards to help us scale our existing programs. The Director, New Markets will help empower us to stay ahead of our customers' needs by creating the data driven reports that help us see trends in the different industries of focus. Your opportunity is to apply your expertise to work on solutions that have high visibility and direct revenue impact within the sales organization. You will collaborate closely with operations, sales, product, and marketing teams to identify which industries we should focus on researching in an attempt to unlock more pipeline for sales.

 The Director, Business Development - New Markets will manage our current New Markets Account Executive and reports to the VP of Sales, New Markets.

Your Daily Adventures Will Include

  • Work with key partners across operations, sales, marketing, and product teams to identify, document and solve issues blocking non-ICP (growth markets) penetration and expansion 
  • Identify trendsetter ideas by researching industry and related events, publications, and announcements
  • Collect, validate, and maintain the data needed for effective new markets consideration 
  • Conduct primary market research to create focus and depth around understanding of the target customer
  • Analyze internal and external customer market trends using data from various self created dashboards 
  • Provide market feedback to company leadership regarding competitive offerings, prospect needs and generate product development idea
  • Gather and prepare data to support analytics from a variety of data sources including internal systems, databases, and Excel spreadsheets, as well as external sources as necessary
  • Consult with internal stakeholders to develop analyses that lead to actionable insights that accelerate sales pipeline
  • Drive learning, tactical changes, and execution through weekly growth metrics management.
  • Consume and integrate data from multiple sources to create integrated views, track metrics, develop KPI dashboards (in SFDC and Tableau) and build reports that can be used to accelerate decision making
  • Actively participate in the identification, evaluation, selection and reporting of business analysis tools and software 
  • Serve as the champion of customer insights to guide growth and adoption
  • Comfort leading an analytics and reporting effort independently or working as part of a project team

Basic Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in business related field
  • 6+ years of professional experience in business intelligence/business analytics, sales, and business development
  • Experience breaking into new and/or under-penetrated markets
  • Data analysis and reporting skills: Excel, Tableau, SFDC, and other data tools 
  • Understanding of cloud SaaS products, ideally Sales Engagement Platforms
  • Experience with territory management and account segmentation
  • Excellent presentation and written communication skills; ability to communicate your vision with both technical and non-technical individuals
  • Ability to translate ambiguous business problems into tactical work that the team can understand
  • Demonstrated ability to coordinate projects and collaborate across functional teams
  • Proven key contributor to the overall success of the company as well as your own goals
