The position involves the implementation of corporate wide quality systems to generate the gold standard for quality products in our industry. You’ll possess quality management skills, problem solving, organizational, and strong communication skills. The ideal candidate will have demonstrated the ability to implement quality initiatives, sustain those initiatives, and support a culture of continuous improvement.

Essential Duties & Responsibilities

  • Monitor product quality performance to identify opportunities for improvement for relevance and adherence to the Quality System, customer and regulatory compliance.
  • Provide technical support to internal and external teams to ensure products are manufactured/packaged in accordance with Radiant specifications.
  • Customer complaint / field failure tracking and resolution including corrective actions and failure analysis reports.
  • Development and maintenance of production quality standards and documentation.
  • Work with manufacturing to establish appropriate process controls.
  • Maintain quality manual and obtain/maintain necessary certifications (ISO, RoHS, etc.).
  • Oversee ISO17025 methods for calibration labs.
  • Testing initial products against design specifications and customer usage model.
  • QC of first hand-built units (prototypes) in new product development.
  • Work with various teams to ensure final design verification and supporting systems are being designed to provide the data required to manage quality and reliability.
  • QC of first production units prior to new product launch.
  • Initial vendor qualification of critical components.
  • Validate and test design changes to include performance root cause analysis in response to nonconformance. Designs corrective actions and solutions to reduce defects with minimal cost.

Desired Skills & Experience

  • B.S. Degree in an Engineering, Physical Science, or Mathematics discipline.
  • 2+ years related quality engineering experience.
  • High energy level and unquenchable desire to learn our business from the ground up (manufacturing floor to customer).
  • A critical thinker with demonstrated ability to solve practical problems and make logical decisions, working with a diversified team.
  • Strong mathematical, problem solving, troubleshooting and organizational skills.
  • Knowledge of Quality Assurance system development and implementation such as ANSI/ISO/ASQ 9001, ISO/TS 16949; AS9100.
  • Able to work with minimal supervision; demonstrate initiative and self-direction.
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills.
  • Ability to interface equally well with customers, sales staff, product development engineers, as well as production managers in a team-oriented environment.
