Senior Director Insurance Partnerships

Position Summary:

Trupanion is seeking a highly-motivated and experienced individual to join its Distribution Group – the team at the heart of this leading pet company’s growth plans. This role will be at the forefront of developing distribution initiatives in partnership with a leading US insurance brand to maximize the support and growth opportunities within an agency network of over 18,000.

As an experienced cross-functional business leader, the Senior Director of Insurance Partnerships will be instrumental in setting the strategic direction and securing operational alignment and efficiencies across Trupanion and insurance partner entities. We are looking for someone with extensive knowledge of the insurance and brokerage market to drive the expected results and full alignment with key senior partners across the State Farm Corporation.

This role has a very competitive compensation package with no cap and a heavy weighting to performance.

Key Responsibilities Include:

  • Be responsible for the key insurance partnerships for the Trupanion brand
  • Represent Trupanion as a key figurehead in business discussions; both internal and externally
  • Create, direct and align with a cross-functional team consisting of operations, sales, and marketing subject matter authorities
  • Analyze and interpret data, identify trends, and generally use data to inform key strategic business decisions
  • Have full budgetary responsibility for insurance partner P&Ls with a focus on driving and increasing efficiencies of pet acquisition costs & working with key business partners to maximize levers for increasing internal rates of return.

Experience:

  • 10+ years of team leadership experience
  • Experience in a fast-paced environment with a proven track record of success
  • Insurance experience and understanding of sales and marketing through insurance networks

Skills, Knowledge & Abilities:

  • Excellent communication skills with a bias to action through relationship building
  • Self-motivation with a clear bias for action, leadership, and teambuilding
  • Experience leading cross-functional teams and campaigns (on and offline)
  • Extensive experience with budgetary control and management
