About the Position:

As a Senior Systems Administrator on our IT Team, your daily mission is to effect change that will improve every aspect of our company’s interaction with technology.  You will drive initiatives and continually challenge our existing standards to deliver a better IT experience.

As an IT generalist, you’re comfortable engaging operating systems, storage, and networking.  You aren’t scared to jump in and figure it out. You will have a view into every aspect of our infrastructure, and will advocate for change that you can design, test, deploy, document, monitor and sustain with the team.

Responsibilities:

• Deploy and maintain network devices, storage appliances, servers, VMs, and containers
• Administration of Active Directory, Windows and Linux application servers, database servers, and associated services
• Administration of monitoring, alerting, configuration management and logging systems
• Provide guidance and leadership on technical issues
• Create and maintain both internal team and user facing documentation
• Task automation with python, bash, and ansible
• Backup, disaster recovery, and business continuity planning and implementation
• Develop in-depth knowledge of every aspect of our team’s offerenings,  and be able to relate them to our users’ needs
• Improve customer service, perception, and satisfaction by proactively communicating SLAs, expectations, and outcomes
• Conduct routine hardware and software audits to ensure compliance with established standards, policies and configuration guidelines.
• Adhere to security best practices to protect the confidentiality, integrity and availability of our IP
• Manage SaaS services and cloud based infrastructure

Qualifications:

• Recent experience related to:
• deploying, managing, and automating Linux, Windows, and OSX operating systems via management system or automation
• storage technologies (SAN/NAS/NFS/SMB/iSCSI)
• complex VMware environments
• managing users and deploying services in AWS, GCP, and Azure
• Excellent written and verbal communication and collaboration skills
• You would rather automate a task than do it manually
• You are attentive to accuracy, effectively multi-task and can prioritize competing responsibilities with limited supervision.
• You have a high level of professionalism and discretion.
• You are able to professionally track your work, evaluate your contribution, communicate your impact and plan your future
• Ability to lift and carry 40lbs (tools, equipment, systems, etc)
• Ability to handle periodic on-call duty as well as out-of-band requests
