As a Software Engineer on the Infrastructure teams, you will be responsible for architecting and building scalable systems to power the Databricks platform in air gapped clouds, making it the de-facto platform for running Big Data and AI workloads for Federal agencies. You will build and extend the Databricks Cloud platform, helping launch and manage the product offering in air gapped Clouds, contributing to our rapid expansion into the Federal market. This includes working with every engineering team in the company, building automation and tools to enable rapid expansion into and management of these isolated environments.

The impact you will have:

• Accelerate company growth by launching the Databricks' product in air gapped clouds and regions.
• Design and build these environments using state of the art Infra-as-Code cloud management platform with Terraform and Kubernetes.
• Improve efficiency by standardizing tech stack across cloud providers and automating common workflows.
• Build systems that are highly available, secure and compliant.
• Operate air gapped environments to ensure high availability and stability for the product

What we look for:

• Active US DoD Top Secret Clearance with SCI
• BS/MS/PhD in Computer Science, or a related field
• 3+ years of experience in a programming language required (Python, Java, Scala, Go)
• 2+ years of public cloud experience preferred
• Strong understanding of Linux and networking fundamentals required
• Experience with Docker and Kubernetes strongly preferred
• Knowledge of Bazel & Jsonnet nice to have
