We are seeking an experienced, best-in-class Technical Enablement Professional and Trainer to enable the global Pre-Sales team to serve as trusted advisors to our sales reps, prospects, and customers by owning the technical win.

In collaboration with the Global Sales Enablement Team and others, this role is responsible for formalizing on-boarding and continuous enablement programs for a rapidly growing technical sales organization. You will work closely with SE Leadership and other stakeholders to build and maintain live and online training content, plus a rich library of self-serve content to provide enablement support for all technical selling roles and execute a comprehensive enablement program that yields faster ramp time for new hires and increased productivity across the technical sales team.

This position relies on a person’s deep understanding of security, as well as the experience in creating training materials in a format that will resonate with Extrahop’s technical sellers. 

Role Responsibilities

  • Develop and optimize segment-specific technical curriculum and programs that improve the productivity of our sales engineers
  • Deliver classroom and virtual training to a variety of technical audiences
  • Create, update and maintain teaching material and lab exercises
  • Maintaining knowledge of the Extrahop platform required to effectively train technical pre-sales audiences
  • Design and develop hands-on and virtual workshops including managing logistics, creating of presentations, lesson plans, activities and labs collaboratively and independently
  • Deconstruct complex and security eco system vendor and emerging technologies for audiences of varying technical background
  • Build and maintain scalable physical and virtual labs
  • Build eLearning content to support the online delivery of hybrid curriculum
  • Collaborate with other organizational learning, technical writing, sales and partner enablement, support, engineering, product, and leadership resources to build highly scalable and compelling training documentation and labs
  • Ensure the quality and consistency of course content, and manage content updates and continuous improvement
  • Serve as a senior technical resource for the Organizational Learning and Technical Content team
  • An ability to articulate use cases and applications of technology in a variety of industries.
  • Build relationships across the business and use SME expertise across teams and organizations
  • Actively and continuously learn and stay informed about the latest messaging, product capabilities, SE roles, and new systems and processes

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in computer science, information systems, or related area or demonstration of equivalent knowledge
  • Strong understanding of Network/Application security, analysis or incident response
  • Minimum of 5 years of relevant experience with network-security, endpoint, IDS or similar technologies
  • 3+ years' experience as a technical trainer / sales engineer / professional services consultant, or equivalent technical position
  • Proven experience successfully delivering ILT and VILT courses in cyber security related topics (e.g., digital forensics, intrusion detection, incident response) to highly technical audiences
  • Experienced with virtual classroom training tools such as WebEx, Zoom, etc.
  • Excellent organizational, interpersonal, and leadership skills
  • Outstanding communication (verbal and written) and presentation skills with the ability to address both executive and technical audiences
  • Ability to quickly learn new technologies and have an ongoing desire to stay current with the latest technologies
  • Ability to focus on results while working independently when given a broad direction and desired results
  • Strong problem solving skills: must be capable of accurately assessing needs, maintaining a calm business demeanor, and taking quick action to resolve issues
  • Understanding of enterprise security requirements
  • Able to function efficiently and effectively in a fast-moving and demanding environment

Technical Requirements

  • Solid understanding network security, endpoint, and SIEM technologies
  • Deep understanding of enterprise-architecture concepts, risk
  • OSI model and excellent working knowledge of the key protocols from Layer 2-7
  • Understanding of NIST and related standards for enterprise security
  • Solid understanding of major operating systems, hardening, and common points of attack
  • Familiarity with the network and application monitoring space a plus
  • Familiarity with scripting including Perl, Python, and JavaScript
  • Familiarity with VMware hypervisor (ESXi) and environments.  #LI-BKW
