Support Engineer

Routable is a B2B payments platform built to make bill payments and mass payouts fast and seamless. Our mission is to be the simplest way to send and receive business-to-business payments. Unlike other payment platforms, Routable’s modern, easy-to-use API allows you to build a powerful payments infrastructure in minutes.

About the Role

Support Engineers are the detectives of the engineering team. As a Support Engineer you are the second level support for customers—triaging and investigating more difficult technical problems and managing escalations into the rest of the engineering team. With a growing customer base and deep integrations into our partner systems, you’ll be an expert on how everything fits together and the ways they can go wrong. You’ll also work to build tools to make Support Engineering and Technical Support’s jobs easier — we want to solve new problems, not repeat ourselves.

Responsibilities

• Handle escalations from technical support, including triaging bug reports, investigating issues, deploying fixes, and managing escalations into core engineering
• Observe trends in issues to help product and engineering make prioritization decisions
• Build tools and automation to help speed the team’s investigation powers
• Build a deep understanding of Routable’s products and integrations

Minimum Qualifications

• 2+ years in a SaaS technical support, software engineering, or QA role
• Able to read and write code in Python or Javascript, with a desire to learn the other
• Experience in ReactJS or Django a plus
• Comfortable with Linux and MacOS command line
• Excellent spoken and written communication
• Experience with customer support
• Experience with finance, accounting, or related fields a plus

Location

You must be currently authorized to work in the United States or Canada on a full-time basis.

Reporting

The Support Engineer reports directly to the Support Engineering Manager.

Rendezvous

To help foster amazing relationships with our coworkers, we meet up twice a year as a whole team in some pretty awesome cities! In the past we’ve met up in San Diego, Seattle, and Austin. We’d rather invest money into memorable team events rather than expensive offices. During our meet-up team time, we love to spend time learning a new skill together, and solving problems. Most recently this has taken on the form of a bread-making class and defeating an Escape Room.
